• BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
March 14, 2002
The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session in the City Commission
Chambers of the City Hall at 11:35 A.M. on March 14, 2002.
Members Present: Larry Blair, Chairman
Karl Stairs
Sylvia Smith
Members Absent: Ruth Stamm
Andrew Valente
Others Present: Dan Florian, Bldg Official
Lynnette Mote, Secretary
The Chairperson Larry Blair called the meeting to order at 11:55 A. M.
The following letter was submitted for consideration:

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning
Ordinance.
Address: 2407 S. Elm Avenue
Legal Description: Leg S 37 Ft of Lot 2 + All Lots 3 & 4 Franklin Terrace PB 3 PG 78
Zoning Classification: SR1A
Side Yard Setback Requirement: 10'
Variance Needed: 5'
The request for this variance is to build a single - family dwelling on part of this property. The owner, Marion
A. McNeill was present to represent the request.

Side Yard Setback Requirements: 10'
Variance Needed: 2.16' East
The request is to allow a single - family residence to be built on the property. Owner Barbara Farrell was
present to represent the request.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Motion was not seconded.
Discussion: Sylvia Smith had a problem with the possible creation of an unlawful parcel of record, which
would create code problems later. She suggested that both Barbara's lots be submitted at the same time at
the next BOA meeting to deal with the setback request and a required width of building variance.
Karl Stairs withdrew his motion.
Sylvia Smith made a motion that this variance request be continued to the April 11'' meeting, and that
Barbara fill out another application for the required width of building variance, and submit both applications
• simultaneously at the April 11, 2002, meeting.
Karl Stairs seconded the motion.
Motion carried.

I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the Zoning
Ordinance.

Legal Description: Leg Lot 46 Blk G Washington Oaks Sec 1 PB 16 Pg 8
Zoning Classification: SRI
• Side Yard Setback Requirement: 4'
Variance Needed: 3.3'
The request is approve a car port and a concrete slab and sidewalk poured in side yard easement by
property owner, to facilitate his ill wife's getting in and out of the house easily. This constitutes an illegal
structure in an easement. Owner John Wansley was present to represent the request.
Any consideration given this request will be appreciated.

Sylvia Smith moved to table this request until the March 28, 2002 BOA meeting, to research this item and
see what can be done for Mr. Wansley, to keep him from having to tear down the structure. She also wants
to research the rear alley easement, which is being used by several property owners as a driveway.
Karl Stairs seconded the motion to table this item until March 28, 2002.
