• BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
JULY 25, 2002
The Board of Adjustment of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Regular Session in the City
Commission Chambers of the City Hall at 11:40 AM on July 25, 2002.
Members Present: Larry Blair
Ruth Stamm
Karl Stairs
Members Absent: Sylvia Smith, excused
Andrew Valente, excused
Others Present: Dan Florian, Building Official
Mary Muse, Admin Secretary
The Chairperson Larry Blair called the meeting to order at 11:40 AM.
The following letter was submitted for consideration:

Gentlemen:
I am submitting the following information for your consideration in requesting a variance in the
Zoning Ordinance.
Address: 120 W. 2& Street
Legal Description: Lot 135 & E 26 Ft. of Lot 136 Sanford Heights PB 2 PG 63
Zoning Classification: SR-IA
Side Yard Setback Requirement: 10 ft.
Variance Requested: 4 ft.
The request for this variance is to approve a garage with a 6 -ft side yard setback. Any
consideration given this request will be appreciated.

The owner, Randall Jones, was present to represent this request. The new garage will be built at
same location as old garage. They purchased 6 ft of property from the adjacent property owner.
• Mr. Stairs moved to approve the 4 -ft side yard variance to allow a 6 -ft side yard setback. Ms.
Stamm seconded. All in favor. Motion carried.

Accessory Building Setback Requirement: 10 ft.
Variance Requested: 6 ft. (due to building height)
The request for this variance is to approve a 6 -ft variance for a 21 -ft tall accessory building. Any
consideration given this request will be appreciated.

The owner, James Allen, was present to represent this request. The accessory structure is 21 ft
tall due to it having an attic storage area.
Mr. Stairs moved to approve the 6 -ft variance for the accessory structure. Ms. Stamm seconded.
