(FS 286.0105) Page 1 of 1 Minutes Planning and Zoning Commission January 17 ,2013 2013 - 10 M City Commission Chambers City Mall, Sanford, Florida Members Present Jerry Mills, Chairman Steve B1r, vice Chairman Steve Newton Michael Loader Lindsay 0yewale Cassandra Buie, Alternate Members Absent Eddie green - excused Michael Padgett - excused Others Present Jennifer Barrington Nix, Assistant City Attorney Russ Gibson, Director of lying and Development Services Dave Richards, Development Services Manager Mary Muse, Administrative Coordinator Mr. Mills called the meeting to order at 10 Alin. Moment of Silence Pledge of Allegiance Minutes Mr. Loader moved to approve the Minutes of the November 15, 2012 Regular Meeting. Mr. Esler seconded. Motion earned 6-0. Public Hearings Hold a Public Hearing to consider a Conditional Use request for Urban Infrll Redevelopment to add 12 rooms to the Fountain Lodge, an existing 22 unit motel located at 2706 Orlando Drive. Govind Morar and Usha Patel, property owners; John Herbert, P.E. — American Civil Engineering Co. and Govind Morar - owner, representatives. Mr. Loader moved to approve the conditional use per staffs recommendation with the following changes /conditions: 1. there shall be six additional paring spaces instead of five; . the owner of the property will work with law enforcement to report suspicious activity and take reasonable steps to curtail criminal behavior on the property; and . change wording on recommendation number 2 to state "all current and future buildings shall comply with current building and life safety codes for what is being approved today." Ms. Buie seconded. Motion carried - Ms. Oyewale and Mr. Mills in opposition). Minutes — January 1+7, 2013 Planning and Zoning Commission Page 2 Citizen Participation None. Staff Report Mr. Gibson reported the February 7 will be canceled. There are items in review, but staff is waiting on additional information before submitting to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Commissioners Reports Mr. Mills stated he would like to have training on the Land Development Regulations and the training could be held on a canceled meeting date. Mr. Gibson stated he had anticipated having training by Lonnie Groot today. Election of officers Mr. Eller nominated Jerry Mills as Chairman. Mr. Loader seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Newton nominated Steve Esler as vice Chairman. Ms. Oyewale seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjournment `here being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:22 AM.
