First Street Sanford, FL 32771 This letter is to state our intent to install raceway and wire between the existing fire alarm control panel and the newly installed electric fire pump controller. We will be connecting the pump controller to three of the spare zones on the existing fire control panel. All three zones will be class B supervised wiring. The zones on the fire alarm panel will be identified as: Fire Pump Running; Fire Pump Phase Reversal; and Fire Pump Power Loss/Trouble. All three zones will send a supervisory signal to the existing remote station monitoring company. We also are requesting to install raceway and wire between the fire alarm control panel and 4 newly installed OS &Y gate valve tamper switches. All 4 of these new tamper switches are installed on existing gate valves for shut off of the fire sprinkler bypass at the electric fire pump. All four of these tamper switches are going to be connected to one of the spare zones on the existing fire panel. The zone on the fire alarm panel will be marked "pump room tamper switches ". This zone will send a supervisory signal to the remote station monitoring company. This tamper zone will be wired for class B supervision. The existing fire alarm panel is located in the fire pump room and is monitored and serviced by another alarm contractor. The fire panel is a Silent Knight 5208 with 30 zones. We will be reprogramming 4 of the unused zones to monitor for supervisory condition. According to the manufacture, this will not change the existing battery calculations because none of the connected switches require any power from the fire panel to operate. ASCO Power echn Tchnologies® Plans R ce' ed :5 / OCT192011`Ij B 'Ire ®, ep . SBP1500 -52 Description — Firetrol° FTA1500 Primary Resistance Fire Pump Controllers use resistors in the line to reduce line voltage when starting the pump motor. The controller monitors, displays and records fire pump system infor- mation. The circuit to the motor is not opened during the tran- sition from start to run. While starting, the motor will draw 50% of full load starting current and supply 25% of rated torque. This method of starting minimizes line disturbances and voltage drop when starting. Features • NEMA 3R -rated enclosure User- friendly mounting bracket fits newer valve yokes Single side conduit entry does not require right angle fittings Adjustable length actuator eliminates the need for cutting the shaft Accommodates up to 12 AWG wire Three position switch monitors vandal and valve close signals • Two SPDT contacts are enclosed in a durable terminal block for added strength • 100 percent synchronization activates both alarm panel and local bell simultaneously Agency Listings UL @ FM MEA APPRMED approved roved 0 5739 C5169 OWWAY 167 -93 -E 7770-1653:118 I_-] Robust Construction. The OSY2 consists of a rugged housing, intended for indoor and outdoor use. When installed with the actuator in the vertical position, the OSY2 is NEMA 313 rated per UL Application Flexibility. The OSY2 features a user - friendly mounting bracket and adjustable shaft to permit mounting to most OS &Y valves, ranging in size from 1 "to 12 Its right angle design and wide bracket span provides maximum clearance for valve components, to accommodate troublesome valves. Removing the OSY2's gate valve bracket allows the unit to monitor side- bracket- style pressure reducing valves. Simplified Operation. Installation is made easier with the OSY2's single side conduit entrance. By providing a direct conduit pathway to the electrical source, right angle fittings are not required. Installation is further simplified by the OSY2's adjustable length actuator, which eliminates the need for cutting the shaft. Reliable Performance. The OSY2 is equipped with tamper - resistant cover screws to prevent unauthorized entry. Inside, two sets of SPDT (Form Q synchronized switches are enclosed in a durable terminal block to assure reliable performance.
