The first item on the Agenda was to hold a Public Hearing to consider a request to Rezone property located at 1201 W. 1 S` Street from RMOI, Multiple Family Residential ice Institutional, to that of GC-2, General Commercial. Tax Parcel No: 25- 19 -30- 503- 0000 -0250. Owner/representative: Gary Davis. Due to lack of representation, Mr. Dyal moved to table. Seconded by Mr. Robert. All in favor. Motion carried. Next on the Agenda was the reconsideration of the Conditional Use permit for alcoholic beverage sales/consumption for AMVETS, approved 7/3197 for 901 W. Seminole Boulevard subject to a sunset provision of one year. Tax Parcel No: 25- 19 -30- 300 - 0170 -0000; Owner: City of Sanford; representative: Freddie Mobley, Sr. Freddie Mobley, Post Commander of AMVETS Post 17,1816 S. Summerlin Avenue, was present. He stated that after a going through a few entanglements regarding licensing, they finally opened two months ago. He respectfully requested that the Commission grant them another term to operate. Mr. Skat moved to approve with no sunset provision. Mr. Dyal seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Dyal moved to approve the Minutes as circulated. Seconded by Mr. Skat. All in favor. Motion carried. Mr. Marder asked the Commission to consider the Plat for the second phase of the Mayfair Development. He stated that the preliminary subdivision plan is consistent with what we have been seeing. Mr. Robert moved to approve. Seconded by Mr. Dyal. All in favor. Motion carried. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M. V Helen S airs, Chairperson Staff Recommendations to the City of Sanford Planning and Zoning Commission for May 21, 1998 GARY DAMS - Request to rezone from RMOI, Multiple Family Residential, Office and Institutional to GC -2, General Commercial for property located at the southwest comer of First Street/State Road 46 and Avocado Avenue. Site is Zoned RMOI, Multiple Family Residential, Office and Institutional and includes an existing two story building. Site fronts First Street/State Road 46 and Avocado Avenue. Site is less than one acre. 2. Uses adjacent to the include Mill Creek, several single family dwellings, vacant land and offices. 3. Site is adjacent to GC-2 Zoning on three sides and MR -3, Multiple Family Residential Zoning to the south. The site is the only parcel fronting First Street in the immediate area that is not Zoned GC -2. 4. The Future Land Use Plan Map of the Future Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan reflects a "Commercial' land use designation for the site and immediate area fronting First Street. 5. Recommend approval of the request to rezone to GC -2, General Commercial based on consistency with the Comprehensive Plan, consistency with adjacent and similar zoning districts and character of the immediate area at the present time.
