Galloway Darrell Grieme Cliff Miller Sheila Roberts Bettye Smith Others Present: Bettie Sonnenberg, Zoning Inspector Steven Harriett, Assistant City Manager The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Chairman, John Morris. The first item was a Public Hearing to consider a request for rezoning from SR -lAA to SR-1-A, property located at 2201 Cooke Ave., for the purpose of single - family homes, represented by Robert M. Bobinchuck. Mr. Bobinchuck presented two conceptual site plans showing what can be done with the present zoning and what they would like to do based on the rezoning, and said they plan high - quality homes nicely landscaped. Mrs. Dot Powell was present to speak in favor of the rezoning as present owner of the property. Present to speak in opposition were Bob Keith, Ernest Horrell and Arthur Harris along with a petition of forty -four (44) signatures of property owners in the area, all in opposition to the rezoning. They all felt the rezoning to SR -lA would allow conditional use of two - family units in the future and would be com- pletely surrounded by SR -lAA zoning and not at all compatible to the area. Mr. Galloway said he felt the recormiendation of the request to rezone would allow conditional use requests and moved to recommend denial. Mrs. Roberts seconded. Motion carried unanimously. The next item was a Public Hearing for request for conditional use in the SC -3 zone, located at 223 W. 3rd St. for motorcycle sales & service. There was no one present to speak in favor. Mr. Carli moved to table the item to the next meeting. Mr. Miller seconded. Motion carried. There was discussion on the memo from the Zoning Inspector regarding the question of stacked parking. Mrs. Smith said she would like additional time to study the problem and the Cha irman requested staff to present some proposed wording for a recommended change to the Zoning Ordinance, to be discussed at the next meeting. The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Jo G. M ris, Cha irman
