The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the Chairman, J. Q. Galloway.
The first item for consideration was a Public Hearing to rezone from RMOI to
GC -2, the property generally located at the SE corner of W. First St. and
Mangoustine Ave., addressed at 1315 W. First St. represented by Bobby Jackson.
Mr. Jackson is the owner of the property and the present gas station was grand -
fathered in. He needs the GC -2 zoning to add a convenience store and he owns
the adjacent property which is zoned GC -2. There was no one present to speak
in opposition.
Mr. Morris moved to recommend approval. Mr. Franklin seconded. Motion carried.
The next item was a Public Hearing to consider rezoning from RMOI to GC -2, the
property generally located east of Terwilliger Lane and north of First St. (SR 46)
represented by Steve Cahill.
Mr. Cahill is owner of the property and a general contractor and wants to develop
it for a shopping village. There was no one to speak in opposition. After dis-
cussion, Mr. Miller moved to recommend approval. Mr. Grieme seconded. Motion
carried.
The next item was a site plan of a 3,000 sq. ft. metal building to be used as a
storage warehouse for Dixie Roofing, located at 2770 Depot Ave. in the MI -2 zoned
district, represented by Tom Freeman for LeRoy Robb.
The plan presented was a revised plan and met all the requirements of the eng-
ineering and zoning departments. After discussion, Mr. Morris moved to approve.
Mr. Miller seconded. Motion carried.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. There being no
further business, the meeting was adjourned.
