The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by the Chairman, J. Q. Galloway.
The first item for discussion was a site plan and change of use from a res-
taurant to a produce market with a 420 sq. ft. greenhouse addition on the
front and a refrigeration unit in the rear of the existing building in the
GC -2 zoned district at 2911 Orlando Drive. Beer, wine, soft drinks, milk,
eggs, plants and produce will be sold through the drive -up window. Mr. John
Carli was present to represent the plan and said there would be no problem
complying with the engineer's comment that the drainage not flow onto private
property. After discussion, Mr. Miller moved to approve, with the stipulation
that the drainage be maintained on the property. Mr. Franklin seconded. Motion
carried.
The next item for consideration was a revised site plan for offices in four
(4) additional buildings on the same property and just west of the mini -
warehouses previously approved in the GC -2 zoned district at 2887, 2889,
2.901 & 2903 Orlando Drive, represented by Carl Pittman for the owner.
Mr. Pittman said there would be no problem with the drainage being maintained
on the property, and the parking requirement could be met. Mr. Morris moved
to approve with the stipulation that the drainage be confined to the property..
Mr. Miller seconded. Motion carried.
Mr. James Perry, Attorney, was present to request from the floor, an extension
of a conditional use for a church at 1016 French Ave. He said the Maranatha
Pentecostal Church has plans to erect a Sanctuary and have been trying to lo-
cate a contractor to supervise the work as they have a lot of subcontractors
in the congregation, and that it will take at least six months to complete the
building. He said they had been looking for an alternative location the past
ninety (90) days, but have not been successful.
Mr. Morris moved to grant an extension of thirty (30) days for the conditional
use of a church, with the stipulation that a site plan be presented to the P & Z
and some concrete evidence that they are constructing their sanctuary. Mr. Willis
seconded the motion and offered the following amendment: Move to grant an ex-
tension of 30 days, conditional that a site plan be ready for this board at the
end of the 30 days. Motion carried.
