The meeting was called to order at 7:OO P.M. by the Chairman, J.Q. Galloway.
The first item for consideration was a Public Hearing to rezone from MR -1 to GC -2,
Lots 6 & 8, Blk A, Lots 2,4,5,6,7 & 8, Blk B, Lots 1 thru 8, Blk C, and Lots 1,3,
5 & 7, Blk D, Celery Ave. Addition. Located south side of Celery Ave. between
Cypress Ave. and Locust Ave. The application was submitted by seven property
owners. Sonny Raborn was present to speak in favor of the rezoning. There was
no one to speak in opposition. After discussion, Mr. Willis moved to recommend
the rezoning. Mr. Gallagher seconded. Motion carried.
The next item on the agenda, a Public Hearing to rezone from SR -2 to GC -2, 11 acres
at 3515 Orlando Drive, was tabled because there was no one present to represent the
request. Mr. Bridges moved to table the item, Mr. Willis seconded. Motion carried.
The next item for discussion was a Preliminary Plat of 3.54 acres for Ramblewood,
Unit II, a part of Hidden Lake PUD, represented by David Meadows. Mr. Gallagher
moved to approve the concept with the stipulation that the payment in lieu of park
area be paid at the time the Plat is recorded. Mr. Sloan seconded. Motion carried.
The next item was a site plan for Tropic Bank at 101 E. 25th St., represented by
A. K. Shoemaker. There was discussion on the curb cuts existing on 25th St. and
the City Engineer said he would suggest getting in touch with DOT regarding the
utilization of the existing curb cuts. It was determined that the landscaping
could be adapted to fit in with the paving. Mr. Sloan moved to approve the plan.
Mr. Gallagher seconded. Motion carried.
The next item was a request for a conditional use of a two - family dwelling in the
GC -2 zoned district on south side of 11th St. and east side of alley between French
Ave. & Laurel Ave. represented by Ed Gordon. After discussion, Mr. Sloan moved to
approve the conditional use. Mr. Bridges seconded. Motion carried.
The next item for discussion was a request from Neda Wamley for a Home Occupation
of "Repair of Homes ", telephone service only, in the MR -1 zoned district at 1006
Mangoustine Ave. Mrs. Wamley said there would be no signs or equipment at the
address and the helper she has would be at the job site only. Mr. Willis moved to
approve the home occupation. Mr. Bridges seconded. Motion carried.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. There being no further
business, the meeting was adjourned.
