Franklin George Willis Others Present: Al Payne, Zoning Director Mack LaZenby, City Engineer /Utility Director The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, J. Q. Galloway at 8:00 P.M. The first item on the agenda was a request for a conditional use in the GC -2 zoned district at 2613 Orlando Drive (formerly Marc Slade) for storage rental space in conjunction with U -Haul dealership, represented by Wade Mahood. Mr. Mahood had photos of the type building to be used for storage. The parking lot will be used for trucks and trailers. Mr. Sloan moved to grant the conditional use. Mrs. Roberts seconded. Motion carried. The next item for consideration,.,a request of living areas of 1285 sq. ft. and 1236 sq. ft. in PUD zoned district for five (5) houses on 7.5 lots E. 24' of Lot 8 and all of Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15, Blk H, Sanora, Units I & II was cancelled at the request of the proponent, Peter,Giglia. Dr. Adhav was present to represent a request for a conditional use in GC -2 zoned district for two duplex residential units on Lots 15 & 16, Blk 21, Dreamwold, 4th Sec. south of 2617 Mohawk Ave. After discussion on landscaping and placement of the houses, Mr. Royster moved to approve the conditional use. Mr. Gallagher seconded. Motion carried. The next item for consideration was a site plan for a rest room building and additional pole buildings at Sanford Flea Market, 1500 French Ave., represented by J. W. Jones. Mr. Jones revealed that DOT had said definitely that no water could go onto French Ave., and he is not prepared to pave the entire area at this time. Mr. LaZenby said he would like the opportunity to talk to the State in regard to the matter and he and Mr. Jones should be able to work out a sol- ution, as any business of this size requires adequate paving. Mr. Miller moved to disapprove the plan as proposed. Mrs. Roberts seconded, Motion carried. Mr. Sloan moved to disapprove the plan as proposed. Mrs. Roberts seconded. Motion carried. Mr. Sloan moved to approve the construction of the rest rooms only at this time. Mr. Gallagher seconded. Motion carried. Mrs. Roberts and Mr. Miller abstained because of the omission of landscaping on the plan. Mr. Douglas Patterson was present to request a conditional use in the GC -2 zoned district at 2472 Park Ave. (former Beauty College) for sale of parts and repair of motorcycles. He said all major work would be done inside the building and the hours of operation would be 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. except Fri. & Sat. operation from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. -1- MINUTES - Planning & Zoning Commission - Nov.15 , 1979 - 8:00 P.M. Mr. Miller moved to approve the conditional use. Mr. Gallagher seconded. Motion carried. Tqm Ueppen was present to request from the floor, conditional use for the old Holler Chevrolet building at 214 S. Palmetto Ave. for the Volkshop, formerly located at 300 E. Commercial St. The owners agreed to erect a fire wall for tenant separation before occupational license is obtained. Mr. Gallagher moved to approve the conditional use. Mrs. Roberts seconded. Motion carried. The Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. J. Q.
