The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by the Chairman,
Arthur Harms.
The first item on the agenda was a public hearing to rezone from
RC -1 to GC -2;, Lots 1,2,9,10,19 and 20 and S. 27.2' of Lots 3 and
18 Blk 15, 3rd Sec. Dreamwold, and Lots 1 thru 12 of Beck's Add'n.
east and west side of French Ave. between 24th St. and 24th Place.
Mr. Otto Thomas was present to speak in favor and said he feels it is
inthe best interest of the city to rezone this section to GC -2.
There was no one to speak in opposition. After dscussion, Mr.
Galloway" moved to recommend the rezoning, Mr. Bridges seconded.
Motion carried.
The next item on the agenda was a public hearing to rezone from RMOI
to GC -2. Lots 1 thru 14, B1k Y and Lots 1,2,3, and 4, B1k Z. St.
Gertrude's Addition. W. First St. between Poplar and Mangoustine.
Mr. Lee Stadig was present to speak in favor. Mr. Lee Armstrong
was present to speak in opposition as an adjacent property owner.
After discussion, Mr. Sloan moved to recommend the rezoning.
Mr. Galloway seconded. Motion carried.
The next item for discussion was a public hearing to rezone from
RMOI to GC -2, Lots 19 thru 26, and Lot 36, Graceline Court, 1215
W. 1st St. Mrs. Hunt was present to speak in favor. After dis-
cussion it was noted that there are some lots that might be included
in the rezoning. Mr. Bridges moved to table the item until the in-
clusion of the other lots can be considered. Mr. Royster seconded.
Motion carried.
The neat item for discussion was a site plan for Sanford Villas on
Celery Ave., represented by the builder, Wick Austin. After discussion
on city requirements for the 25 duplex development, Mr. Sloan moved to
approve the plan as presented. Mr. Galloway seconded. Motion carried.

The next item, from the floor, was a request for an opinion on re-
zoning the SE corner of Celery and Mellonville from RC -1 to GC -2.
The item was tabled until a formal application is received.
The next item, from the floor, was a request for a conditional use in
the GC -2 district for a small welding business at 818 W. 13th St. re-
presented by Mr. Lockett. Mr. Royster moved to approve with the
condition that the business does not interfere with television in the
area. Mr. Bridges seconded. Motion carried.
The next item for discussion was the request for rezoning of the
Rugenstein property on Lake Mary Boulevard. The staff presented
aerial studies of the area and after discussion Mr. Sloan moved to
recommend denial. Mr. Royster seconded. Motion carried.
The Chairman requested a follow -up on the Lil' Champ Store at the
corner of 25th St. & Mellonville to instruct them to install "No
Left Turn" signs at the exits to prevent traffic from going west on
25th St.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed. There
being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
