Inspector Mr. Linvel Risner Mr. Mack LaZenby, City Engineer The meeting was called to order by Chairman Harris, who proceeded by introducing the first item on the agenda, the New Sign Ordinance. After a general discussion on the changes presented by Gerald Dake, City Planner, it was noted that these changes be made before submitting the New Sign Ordinance to the City Commission: Page 5 Definition 14, to read as follows: "Lighted or Electrical Sign." Page 15 General Provision No. 15: "thirty - two (32) square feet in a commercial or industrial zone." Page 23 Article VI, Number 8, Construction & Electrical Permits, to be inserted the following: Planning and Zoning Commission November 2, 1972 Page 2 In order to obtain a permit to erect any sign within the jurisdiction of these regulations, an applicant shall submit to the Building Official an accurate drawing, to scale, showing the material to be displayed, height, and dimensions, construction details, electrical plans "conforming with the requirements of the National Electric Code'.. After these changes were noted, it was recommended by Dave Berrien, seconded by Jeff Davis, and duly carried to submit the New Sign Ordinance to the City Commission. The second item on the agenda was the New Zoning Ord- inance. The City Commission had asked that there be added a clause designating 5% of the gross area be dedicated to the City for Governmental use. This would be in addition to the 600 square feet per dwelling unit now required for open space and parks. Art Harris opposed this clause stating it would be too much to require in addition to the 600 square feet now required. Gerald Dake was defensive, and stated he did not think 5% of the gross area in addition to that now required, was too much to require, and stated that Hidden Lake, a PUD (Planned Unit Development) project, far exceeded the required square footage, and had land in excess. He also stated he felt only PUD's should be made to conform with this clause, that is, only tracts con- sisting of 100 Acres or more of land. This land set aside would be maintained by the City. City Manager W.E.Knowles stated he thought it would be impractical for plats containing less than 100 Acres to be made to conform. It was motioned by Edward Blacksheare and seconded by Jeff Davis and duly carried that this clause only apply to PUD It was also noted that on Page 17 of the New Zoning Ordinance, Item 3 (a.) be changed as follows: Minimum required lot area be changed from 6,000 square feet to 7,500 square feet. Page 16, Item 3, Item 1 (a.) be changed to read: Any use permitted in the SR -lAA, to Any use permitted in the SR -1A Single Family Residential Dwelling District. Knowles announced Mr. Linvel Risner will return to the City Staff, effective November b, 1972, and was given a warm welcome by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
