McKibbin, G. Donald Bishop William Bush, Jr. Arthur Harris Robert E. Karns A. W. Lee, Jr. Phillip Logan Mason H. Wharton City Manager W. E. Knowles Building Official Linvel Risner Absent: Jr., Chairman C. F. Brooke Smith, M.D. The Chairman called the meeting to order. The reading of the previous minutes was waived. A discussion was held on the possible programs to up date the comprehensive city plan to get the workable program certified in preparation for City participation in federal programs such as the Code Enforcement Program. A review of the presentation of the Urban Programming Corporation was requested by the Chairman and given by the City Manager. In addition, the City Manager reported on the telephone calls made to check on this firm and played back to the Board the recording of the telephone con- versation with Mr. Gerald Dake, Planner with Adley Associates, regarding his findings on the firm. After considerable discussion, on motion of Mr. Harris, seconded by Mr. Wharton and carried unanimously, the Board voted to recommend to the City Commission that the firm of Urban Programming Corporation be retained provided the City Attorney could draft an acceptable contract that will assure the City of obtaining this work at no cost to the City. Z & P minutes Special Meeting June 23, 1966 -2- The Chairman then appointed these two members, Mr. Harris and Mr. Wharton, to attend the City Commission Meeting Monday, June 27th, to present all data and the recommendation to them. No further study was undertaken at this meeting regarding the revision of the city's sign ordinance. On motion of Mr. Wharton, seconded by Mr. Bishop and carried, the meeting adjourned.
