Members present were: Messers. McKibbin, Bush, Harris,
Talley, Johnson., Morgan, Kirtley, and Lee. Also present were:
City Manager Knowles and Building Official Yelvington.
Meeting was called to order by Chairman McKibbin.
Minutes of September 1, 1960, were read and approved.
Mr. Richard Silvers, Jr., agent for the owners of property
on the S.E. corner of 7th 'Street and Olive Avenue; legal.being:
Lot l_, Block 9, Tier 15, Seminole Park presented to the Board
an application and signed petition for the rezoning of the above
mentioned property from an R -3 zone to that of R -4 (multiple
family). The planned use of the property being to convert the
existing 2- story, frame home into a "rooming house" with the
top floor for renters and the bottom floor for a nursery on
Sundays. It was stated that the present owners of the Good
Samaritan.Home for the aged would also operate the rooming house.
Due to the property being bordered on the north by a C -2
zone and on the west by an R-4 zone, it was moved by Mr. Morgan,
seconded by Mr. Johnsen and carried that it be rerAmmended to
the City.Commission that, Lot 1, Block 9, Tier 15, Seminole
Park, be rezoned to an R-4; thus extending the R-4-zone and
keeping the zone contiguous.
The Board then continued their review work on the Proposed
Zoning Ordinance. See Addendum No -. 8 dated September 15, 1960.
Also, the Board went into the first phase of review work on the
Zoning Map.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned to
Thursday, September 22, 1960, for further reviewing-of planning
proposals.
