McSibbin, Sirtley, Earns, Johnson, Lee and Talley. Also present were: City Manager Knowles, Building Official Yelvington and Mr. Jack Phillips of the Sanford Herald newspaper. Chairman Mcgibbin called the meeting to order. On motion of Mr. Talley, seconded by Mr. Earns and carried, Chairman McKibbin was requested to read the "minutes" of January ?, February 11, February 18, and February 25, 1960 for approval. Due to the recent vacancy on the Board of Adjustment and the Zoning and Planning Commission created by Mr. Howard Faville's illness, Mr. Talley moved that Mr. Wight Sirtley be appointed on a temporary basis to act as the "liaison" member on the Board of Adjustment and so recommended to the City Commission. Motion seconded by Mr. Karns and passed. To fill the vacancy on the Zoning and Planning Board, Mr. Sirtley moved that the following names be recommended to the City Commission for the appointment of one on a temporary basis: Mr. Vernon Mize Mr. F. Wade Tye Mr. William Bush Motion seconded by Mr, Johnson and carried. The Building Official then presented the following off - street parking requests for consideration by the Board: 1. Cullen & Harkey Real Estate & Insurance office on the N.E. corner of 22nd St. and Park Avenue. The plan showed five (5) off- street parking spaces for a building of approximately 34 x 50. Moved by Mr. Talley, seconded by Mr. Lee and carried that the five spaces be accepted, 2 . Sanford Electric Company; new site on Park Drive & Myrtle Avenue (north of Howe's new dress shop). This building to be used in relation to their electrical service department and contracting work. W Z & P minutes March 17, 1960 -2- The plan showed seven (7) off- street park'ng spaces. Moved by Mr. Karns, seconded by Mr. Talley and carried that the seven spaces be accepted. The Board viewed the plat of Mr. Cecil Ozier's property to be named GARDEN PARS sub - division in the area bordered by Country Club Manor, Holcomb property and the City's borrow pit. Since the homes are to be constructed in the approximate price range and floor area as in the Country Club Manor sub - division, the Building Official stated that the structures would in all probability comply with the regulations for the existing R -1C zone. Moved by Mr. Karns, seconded by Mr. Johnson and carried that the GARDEN PARS plat be accepted as to lay- out, drainage, etc. The Building Inspector asked the Board members for consideration of the R -2 zone, Which allows professional offices, when the final planning study is adopted in that, does the City want more than one office per site thereby creating a traffic problem in a multiple family district? There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Chairman
