Commission Thursday, February 21, 195?
Present were: Messers. Brown, Karns, Faville, Peacock,
and Morgan.
Also present were: Building Inspector Yelvington, Mr.
Donald Park, Mr. Walker, and Mr. J. W. Hall.
Mr. Hall's request for Mr. Park was discussed. This con-
cerned the construction of a commercial roller skating rink on
the northwest corner of 25W Street and Maple Avenue. It was
requested to rezone these three lots from R -1 to C -1.
Mr. Peacock moved that the request be tabled until the next
meeting so that the members of the Commission would have a chance
to check the area. Seconded by Mr. Faville and passed.
Mr. Yelvington discussed two points with the Commission and
the following recommendations were made:
1. Mr. Morgan moved that all front yard requirements
should remain as they presently are in the law.
However, in the ,event that 60 percent of the lots
in that particular block are already built upon
and have front yards equal too or greater than the
minimum, any new house shall have a front yard re-
� uirement of not less than the minimum plus one -half
36) the difference between the minimum and the average
of the existing front yard depths. Seconded by Mr.
Faville and passed.
2. Mr. Faville moved that the side yard requirements
in multiple family districts be amended whereby a
single family dwelling, built in a multiple family
zone, must have a minimum side yard of 736 feet.
Seconded by Mr. Peacock and passed.
There being no further business, Mr. Morgan moved the meeting
adjourn. Mr. Karns seconded; and the motion carried.
