Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness — Residential District 919 Oak Ave. Restore upper porch (remove enclosure); add upper and lower porches at rear of house; replace windows with French doors; 408 W. 9 Street Replace windows 5 Minor Reviews 6 6 -month Reviews None 7 Chairman and Board's items for discussion 9. Adjournment. Workshop with City Attorney to discuss Schedule S of the Sanford Land Development Regulations. MINUTES HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING APRIL 8, 2004 5:00 PM CITY COMMISSION CHAMBERS CITY HALL, SANFORD, FLORIDA MEMBERS PRESENT Denny Gibbs Stephanie Powers Steve Myers Maria Shreve Leslie Stevens Barbara Farrell Tom Goodman MEMBERS ABSENT Alex Then Item 1 — Call to Order - the meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. Item 2 — Roll Call Item 3 — Approval of Minutes — Ms. Gibbs made the motion to approve. Ms. Stevens seconded. Motion carried 6 -0. Item 4 — Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness — Residential District Item 4A — 919 Oak Ave., JoAnne Berens, 102 Lakewood Dr., Orlando, owner and applicant, is requesting approval from the board to restore the front upper porch by removing the enclosure, add upper and lower porches at the rear of the house, and to replace the windows with French doors. Item 4al — Ms. Powers made the motion to approve removal of upper porch enclosure, walls and windows, and to install original 2 windows and 1 door to match lower level. Must come back for approval of railing. If old flooring was tongue and groove, can be replaced with same. Ms. Shreve seconded motion. Motion carried 6 -0. 5:32 Tom Goodman Entered Meeting. Item 4a2 - 2nd story rear porch will be 6' x 17', 1 st story rear porch will be 8' x 17' with standard 1 x 6 wood decking. Ms. Farrell made the motion to approve upper deck with 6' pressure treated boards, lower deck extending out 8' stepping back to 4' wide deck, with a 15 Historic Preservation Board April 8, 2004 Page 2 light french door. Railings to be submitted at a later date. Ms. Gibbs seconded. Motion carried 7 -0. Item 4B — 408 W. 9th St., No applicant present. Motion to continue made by Ms. Farrell. Motion seconded by Ms. Stevens. Motion carried 7 -0. Workshop — 5:52 - Mr. Lonnie Groot, City Attorney, met with the board regarding the variance procedure. Item 5 - Minor Reviews Item 6 — Six Month Reviews — none Item 7 — Chairman and Board Member's discussion. Mr. Myers — 422 Palmetto Ave., window on north side of building and door on east side. Ms. Shreve — 808 Magnolia, windows switched out. Ms. Farrell — gas station on corner of 3 rd and Park, loud music playing under gas canopy, is this allowed? Ms. Powers — any progress on Imperial Palace? Mr. Myers — surveys coming along? Tajiri plantings? Ms. Shreve — still a metal door on 300 block of Palmetto. Ms. Farrell — dead boats and junk cars in yard at 10 and Palmetto. Item 8 — Adjournment — there being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:36 p.m.
