Meeting adjourned at 6:48 p.m. MINUTES HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 14, 2004 5:00 PM CITY COMMISSION CHAMBERS CITY HALL, SANFORD, FLORIDA Members Present Denny Gibbs Alex Then Stephanie Powers Steve Myers Maria Shreve Barbara Farrell Staff Present Antonia Gerli — Senior Planner Jo -Ann Johnson - Secretary Item 2 — Call to Order — the meeting was called to order at 5:07 p.m. Item 3 - Approval of Minutes for the September 9, 2004 meeting. Ms. Shreve made the motion to approve. Ms Gibbs seconded the motion. Motion carried 6 -0. Item 4 - Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness - Commercial Item 4A - 218 S. Palmetto Ave., John Giuliani, owner is requesting approval for renovations to an existing building. Ms. Gibbs made the motion to approve, amending the change of the south facing facade to the newly submitted drawings and removing the lot 7 facade from the review. Ms. Farrell seconded. Maria Shreve, co -owner is recused. Item 4a1 - approval in concept for fountain at intersection of 2nd Street and Palmetto Avenue. Mr. Then made the motion to approve in concept with details to be submitted at a later date. Ms. Farrell seconded. Motion carried 6 -0. Item 4a2 - approval of columns with planters located in right of way. Mr. Then made the motion to approve. Ms. Gibbs seconded. Motion carried 5 -0 (Shreve recused). 5. Applications for Certificates of Appropriateness - Residential District Item 5a - 1005 Palmetto Ave., Pat Hendricks, owner, requesting approval of final details for new house. Ms. Shreve made the motion to approve as submitted. Ms. Farrell seconded. Motion carried 6 -0. Historic Preservation Board October 14, 2004 Page 2 Item 5b - 415 Palmetto Ave., Margaret Teal, residing at 2505 Princeton Avenue, Sanford, is requesting approval to fill in window on south side of rear addition. Ms Farrell made the motion to approve as presented. Ms. Shreve seconded. Motion carried 6 -0. Item 5c - 600 Magnolia Ave, James and Frances Calgiano, request presented by Barbara Farrell, are seeking approval to fill in door and replace siding on rear addition. Mr. Then made the motion to approve as submitted. Ms. Gibbs seconded. Motion carried 5 -0. Item 5d - 1106 Magnolia Ave., Nancy Glicken's request, presented by Ms. Farrell, is to add decorative vinyl shutters to the front of the house. Mr. Then made the motion to approve a solid or louvered panel, rectangular in shape, no arches. Ms. Gibbs seconded. Motion carried 5 -0. 6. Minor Reviews 7. 6 -month Reviews 8. Chairman and Board's items for discussion Maria Shreve — 418 Palmetto Ave has painted front of house, color approved? Also 422 Palmetto Avenue, paint and embellishments not approved by HPB. 9.
