implement murals, display artwork in Paw Park and utilize the Art on Loan project in which
artists will loan art to the City so that it can be displayed (Commission Chambers).
Kim House, PAC member, distributed a handout that included several ideas that
were put together when applying for the Bloomberg Grant. Three cities will be selected to

believe are good projects: l) Sanford Speaks — this is a project in which local communities
would create a sculpture using word art and display it in the community. The idea behind the art

of the lake. One could travel the bike path and return on a `bicycle ferry' which travels across the
lake. Ms. House also suggested partnering with other cities or counties for this particular project.
Ms. Poe asked the Commission to support a Call to Artists. She explained that this
would allow the PAC to accept and review applications for artwork in the City Hall Breezeway
and the stained glass window in the steeple. There was a consensus among the Commission to
move forward with the Call to Artists.
Reggie Santilli, PAC member, mentioned that they would like to collaborate with
Seminole County Community College and fill some of the City's empty store fronts with art. She
said that this is a good way to showcase local artists and that it is rather inexpensive.
Jennifer Lindquist, PAC member, said that the Public Art Lecture Series
continues to be successful in educating the community and that it will continue on a quarterly
basis.
In closing, Ms. Poe asked the Commission to consider approving a budget request
of $25,000 in order to move forward with the projects mentioned tonight.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:10 PM.
