FIELD-PROOVIAMMING FEATURES
OFFLINE PROGRAMMING: Create the entire program in
your office using a Windows* -based software package (or-
der programming kit PK CD, containing PKPlus, separately).
Upload/download system programming locally to the MS-
9200UD in less than one minute.
AUTOPROGRAMMING: Command the MS-920OUD to pro-
gram itself (takes less than 30 seconds). In the Auto -Pro-
gram mode, the MS-92000D scans for all possible devices
at all addresses, stores the device types, and addresses
found, and then loads default values for all options (General
Alarm). It also checks for two or more devices set to the
same address.
ONLINE EDIT: While still providing fire protection, the MS-
920OUD may be programmed from the front panel. Simple
menu trees displayed on the LCD alknv the trained user to
perform all functions without referring back to the program-
ming manual.
ENGLISH LABEL LIBRARY: (Quickly select labels from a
standard library of more than 50 adjectives/nouns, such as
FLR 3 HALLWAY," or enter custom labels letter -by -letter.
Use recall function to repeat previously used label.
PROGRAM CHECK: Automatically catch common errors,
such as control modules not linked to any zone or input point.
MAINTENANCE ALERT
The MS-920OUD continuously monitors each smoke detec-
tor and is capable of reporting maintenance conditions. This
reduces the risk of false alarms due to dust accumulation.
Refer to the control panel installation manual for more infor-
mation.
AUTOMATIC TEST OPERATION
The MS-92000D performs an automatic test of each detec-
tor every two hours. Failure to meet the test limits causes an
AUTO TEST FAIL trouble type. System Reset clears this
trouble.
NFPA STANDARDS
The MS-920OUD complies with the following NFPA 72 Fire
Alarm Systems requirements:
LOCAL (Automatic, Manual, Waterflow and Sprinkler Su-
pervisory).
AUXILIARY (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow) (requires
4XTMF).
REMOTE STATION (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow)
requires 4XTMF ).
PROPRIETARY (Automatic, Manual and Waterflow).

CONSTRUCTION
Cover, backplate and operation handle are all molded
of durable polycarbonate material.
Cower features white lettering and trim.
Red color matches System Sensor's popular
SpectrAiert*" homistrobe series.
OPERATION
The 13G-12 manual pull stations provide a textured finger -
hold area that includes Braille text. in addition to PUSH
IN and PULL DOWN text, there are arrows indicating how
to operate the station, provided for non -English-speaking
persons.
Pushing in and then pulling down on the handle activates
the normally -open alarm switch. Once latched in the down
position, the word "ACTIVATED" appears at the top in
bright yellow, with a portion of the handle protruding at
the bottom as a visible flag. Resetting the station is simple:
insert the key or hex (model dependent). twist one quar-
ter-tum, then open the station's front cover, causing the
spring -loaded operation handle to return to its original
position. The alarm switch can then be reset to its normal
non -alarm) position manually (by hand) or by closing the
station's front cover, which automatically resets the switch.

INSTALLATION
The SD350(T) Plug -In Detectors use a detatchable mount-
ing base to simplify installation, service and maintenance.
Mount base on box which is at least 1.5 inches (3.81 cm)
deep. Suitable boxes include:
4" 0 0. 16 cm) square box with plaster ring
4" (10.16 cm) octagonal box.
3.5" (8.89 cm) octagonal box.
Single -gang box.
NOTE: Because of the inherent supervision provided by the
SLC loop, end -of -line resistors are not required. Wiring "T-
taps" or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class B) wiring.
OPERATION
Each SD350(T) uses one of 99 possible addresses on the
MS-9200 Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) or up to 318 (159 on
each loop) on the MS-9600 SLC. it responds to regular polls
from the system and reports its type and status.
The SD350(T) Addressable Photoelectric Sensor"I unique
unipolar chamber responds quickly and uniformly to a broad
range of smoke conditions and can withstand wind gusts up
to 1,500 ieet-per-minute without sending an alarm level sig-
nal, Because of the unipolar chamber, the SD350(T) is ap-
proximately two times more responsive than most photoelec-
tric sensors. This makes it a more stable detector.
DETECTOR SENSITIVITY TEST
Each detector can have their sensitivity tested (required per
NFPA 72, Chapter 7 on Inspection, Testing and Mainte-
nance) when installed/connected to an MS-9200 or MS-
9600 addressable fire alarm control panel The results of
the sensitivity lest can be printed off the MS-9200 and MS-
9600 for record keeping.

The new D350P and D350RP addressable photoelectric duct
smoke detectors are used exclusively with the Fire-Lite MS-
9200 and MS-9600 addressable fire alarm control panels.
Since these duct detectors are addressable, they will help
emergency personnel quickly locate a fire during its early
stages, potentially saving precious rescue time while also
reducing property damage. The 0350RP offers the same fea-
tures as the D350P while adding a Form-C relay.
An HVAC system supplies conditioned air to virtually every
area of a building. Smoke introduced into this air duct sys-
tem is thus distributed to the entire building. Smoke detec-
tors for use in air duct systems sense the presence of smoke
in the duct.
The D350P and D350RP air duct smoke detectors are pho-
toelectric detectors, combining this detection technology with
an efficient housing design that samples air passing through
the duct, allowing detection of a developing hazardous con-
dition. When sufficient smoke is sensed, an alarm signal is
initiated at the fire control panel monitoring the detector. With
the D350RP, appropriate action can be taken to shut off fans
and blowers and to change over air handling systems, etc.
This can isolate toxic smoke and fire gases or prevent their
distribution thoughout areas served by the duct system.
Two LED's on each detector light to provide a local, visible
alarm indication. A remote alarm output is provided for use
with auxiliary devices. The D350P and D350RP have remote
test capability with the RTS451/RTS451KEY Remote Test
Station, as well as remote communication using the RA40OZ
alarm LED.
APPLICATIONS
Duct smoke detectors have the following limitations:
NOT a substitute for open area smoke detectors.
NOT a substitute for early warning detection.
NOT a replacement for a building's regular fire detection
system.
Call your Fire-Lite distributor for a copy of System Sensor's
application guide, Proper Use of Smoke Detectors in Duct
Applications (A05-1004-00).
INSTALLATION
Wiring: For signal wiring (the wiring between detectors or
from detectors to auxiliary devices), it is recommended that
single conductor wire be no smaller than 18 AWG (0.75 mm').
The duct smoke detector terminals accomodate wire sizes
up to 12AWG (3.25 mm'). Flexible conduit is recommended
for the last foot (30.46 cm) of conduit: solid conduit connec-
tions may be used if desired.
Smoke detectors and alarm system control panels have speci-
fications for Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) wiring. Consult the

control panel specifications for wiring requirements before

AMI"TIONS
Example 1
Expand notification appliance power an additional 8.0
amps. Use up to 4 Class B (Style Y) outputs or 4 Class A
Style Z) using the ZNAC-4.
In this example, the FRCP notification appliance circuits
will activate the FCPS-24FS8 when reverse polarity activa-
tion occurs. Trouble conditions on the FCPS-24FS8 are
sensed by the FACP through the Notification Appliance
circuit.
Use the FCPS-24FS8 to expand auxiliary regulated 24 volt
system power up to 6.0 amps. Both non-resettabie and
resettable power options are available.
Resettable outputs are created byconnecting onnectingthe resettable output
from the FACP to one or both of the FCPS-24FS8 inputs.
Example
3 Use
addressable control modules to activate the FCPS- 24FS8
versus the FACP Notification Appliance Circuits. This
typically allows for mounting the FCPS-24FS8 at greater
distances' away from the FRCP while expanding system
architecture in various applications. In
this example, an addressable control module is used to
activate the FCAS-24FS8 and an addressable monitor module
is used to sense FCPS-24FS8 trouble conditions. Lodi
auxiliary power output from the FCPS-24FS8 pro- vides
power to the addressable control module. Fire•

addressable FACPs have the capability of locating control and
n onitw modules up to 10.000 feet (3048 m)away. Sync
FolfowerliCenwrator Mote: In some installations, it is
necessary to synchronize the flash timing of all strobes in
the system for ADA compliance. Strobes accomplish this
by monitoring very short timing pulses on the NAC power,
which are created by a Fire Alarm Control Panel such
as the Fire-Lite MS-5600_ When installed at the end of
a MS-9600 NAC wire run, this power supply can track i.
e., 'follow") the strobe synchronization liming pulses on the
existing NAC wire run. This maintains the overall sys- tem
flash timing of the additional strobes attached to this power
supply. When
this power supply is configured (via DIP switch settings)
as a 'sync follower," this supply's NAC outputs track
the strobe synchronization pulses present at this supply'
s sync input terminal. The pulses are originated from
an upstream FRCP or other power supply. When
this power supply is configured (via DIP switch settings)
as a "sync generator," this supply's sync input terminal
are not used. Rather, this power supply is the originator
of the strobe synchronization pulses on this power
supply's NAC outputs. In "sync generator" mode, the
sync type (System Sensor, Wheelock, or Gentex) is selectable
via DIP switch settings. Page
