Add On Items/New Business
1. 10'19-2019: Hispanic Outreach: I px4-5 pk4: Applicant will reserve K8cKibbin Park from 10 AM to 2 Rw
and is supplying their own chairs, and sound for the event. Power will be utilized via the pavilion. No
food and no drink will be present. The applicant requested a noise permit. No services from Public
Works or City Police will be required.
2. 10-27-20I9: OSK\ Destination Spotlight: 5:30-6:30 Pm. The applicant plans to reserve Magnolia
Square. Following a conference at Westin, guests will be transported to downtown Sanford for a short
Welcoming Ceremony. Guests will receive a map with merchants that will be participating as part of
spotlighting Sanford and what it has to offer visitors. Applicant request a podium and power for
sound. Ms. Brooks requested a Certificate of Insurance, schedule of the days events. The applicant is
supplying a small stage to be placed under the Magnolia Square canopy.
3. 11-02-2019: Sanford Pride: 12 — 8 PM: Due to conflicting events and limited Police resources, there was
discussion regarding the availability of the 11/2/2019 date. Sgt. Glenn received confirmation from Ofc.
Neal that Cpt. Herx confirmed there would be Police staff available to cover the event. The applicant
states that Paul Williams will be handling the food vendors and clean-up of the event. City Services
will include street closures from 9 AM to 8 PM and 1 spider box. Marc Hultin requests one staff
member be on-site to oversee clean-up. Jennifer Brooks requires a list of food vendors and the Fire
Department will inspect food trucks. Liquor liability will be provided by West End Trading Company.
4. 02-22-2020: 3rd Annual Sanford Porchfest: 12 — 8 PM: This years event will include 12 homes and
approximately 44 bands. There will be no alcohol. Owners and volunteers will be responsible for
maintaining trash clean-up. The Applicant stated portable restrooms will be located at each home.
The event is being promoted as a walk or bike event, and the applicant plans to secure parking for golf
carts at the apartment complex on Magnolia and 7th Avenue. Street closures of Magnolia between 7th
and 8th Streets and Magnolia between 8th and 9th Streets is being requested. The applicant will
distribute street closure notification to the local residents being impacted by the street closures. The
home at 101 E. 10th Street will serve as the event headquarters. Police staff will require an officer at
every intersection within the screen closure. City services will include barricades for street closures
and police for security and road closures. Certificate of Tax Exemption and Certificate of Insurance will
is required.
5. 11-16-2019: Day of the Deviants: 6 —10 PM: Applicant request to hold their event at the rear of their
business adjacent to the alley to allow for a standing area for guest. Two to three bands are expected.
The applicant anticipates opening their roll -up delivery door for band placement. Police Staff will
require the outdoor event area to be blocked in a way that attendees cannot leave the premises with
alcohol. A dumpster will be required.
6. 12-11-2019-01-03-20204: First American Fireworks: 9 AM —9 PM: The event will be held in the Winn
Dixie Parking lot at 1540 S. French Avenue, Sanford, FL. The applicant will follow standard procedures
for fire inspection.
7. 09-20-19: Sanford Climate Strike: 4 — 5 PM: This is considered a "Freedom of Speech" event. The event
will be held at Ft. Mellon Park. The organizers will provide resources regarding the Climate and
contact information for Congress. They will also have free ice pops.
8. 10-06-2019: St. Thomas Moore Prayer Walk: A walk around Ft. Mellon Park from the 1st Street side of
the Park to Mellonville; across Mellonville to the sidewalk and then heading north toward Lake
Monroe and return to Ft. Mellon Park on the lake side of Seminole Bouelvard.
Staff Reports/Discussion:
Race to Cure: 9-15-2019: Update from applicant: Estimated attendance is between 400 — 500. No portable
restrooms are required. Parks will ensure the green space is mowed; emergency medical will not be assigned.
If an emergency assistance is required utilize the 911 system. Sierra Nevada is provided alcohol and liquor

libability needs to be provided by either the applicant or Sierra Nevada. City services will include Police staff
present at 5:30 AM for security and additional staff in place by 6:00 AM; one officer will remain until the event
has ended. Facilities will supply a spide box; and Parks will open restrooms by 5:00 am; irrigation will be off;
Public Works will have signage and barricades for street closures.
Sanford Indie Market: 09-15-2019: Upcoming this Sunday.
Jazz in the Park: 09-28-2019: Connie will notify the applicant in order to prevent damage to irrigation stakes
cannot be used in the Park. The use of sandbags or other weights that are not put in the ground can be used
to secure tents.
