AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ARTICLE III. WATER, SEWER AND DRAINAGE
CONNECTION AND CONTROL CHARGE OF CHAPTER 28,
WATER, SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL AND
RECLAIMED WATER REUSE OF THE SANFORD CITY
CODE, TO ADOPT REVISED WATER AND SEWER
CONNECTION FEES AND FEES FOR WORK ITEMS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission of the City of Sanford to adopt
revised water and sewer connection fees, and fees for work items.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA, that Article III entitled Water, Sewer and Drainage Connection and
Control Charge of Chapter 28 entitled Water, Sewers and Sewage Disposal and Reclaimed Water
Reuse of the City Code is hereby amended as follows:
SECTION 1. That See. 28-43 (a) and (b) are hereby deleted in their entirety.
SECTION 2. That a new See. 28-43 (a) and (b) are hereby adopted as follows:
ARTICLE III. WATER, SEWER AND DRAINAGE
CONNECTION AND CONTROL CHARGE
Sec. 28-43. Imposed; amount.
Except as otherwise provided, every property owner whose property first receives water
and sewer services from systems owned or controlled by the city shall pay to the city water and
sewer impact fees per See. 28-141/150, and water and sewer connection fees and fees for
work items, as follows:
(a) Water and Sewer Connection Fees shall be paid as follows:

* Standard field conditions with 3 f~. line depth. Deeper lines or abnormal situations may
result in higher costs. These costs may not apply in non-residential areas.
* * Includes dual check valve for backflow prevention.
*** Does not include a backflow preyenter. This device shall be installed by the
owner/developer.

* Standard field conditions with clear site access. Abnormal situations may result in
higher costs. In non-residential, multi-family and other specific areas sewer taps are to be
installed by the developer and constructed to City standards. (See Section 20.5.1 of the
Utility Manual.)
(b) Work Item Fees shall be paid as follows:
(1) STREET CUT AND REPAIR * $ 700 Full Width
$ 350 Half Width
* Standard road conditions, Abnormal situations may result in higher costs, In non-
residential areas street cuts are to be performed by the developer and constructed to City
standards.
(2) PIPE LINE BORE **

* This cost does not include a state or county permit or other special conditions which
may be required
* * In non-residential areas the developer is responsible for any roadway bores.
SECTION 3: CONFLICTS. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
