AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE: NO. 3361, AND ITS AMENDMENTS, TO
AUTHORIZE SIX (6) ADDITIONAL FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC
POSITIONS IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND ADOPTING AN
'AMENDED CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLAN; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida,
deems it necessary to authorize the addition of six (6) Firefighter/Paramedic Positions in
the Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Commission adopts the statements above as if fully set forth
herein.
SECTION 2: That the terms of Ordinance No. 3361 are hereby amended.
SECTION3: That Ordinance No. 3361 be and the same is hereby amended to
provide that the revisions to the Classification and Pay Plan attached hereto as Exhibits
are incorporated herein by reference and are made part of this Ordinance as fully and
completely as though it was fully set forth herein.
SECTION 4: If any section or portion of a section of this ordinance proves to be
invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or affect
of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 5: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 6: This ordinance shall become effective after its passage and adoption.

via Interlocal Agreement between City of Sanford and Sanford Airport Authority.
* NOTE: (1) Police Officer position and (1) Crime Analyst position authorized in the
Investigation Division are authorized subject to and concurrent with continued grant
funding associated with the "Florida Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Authority"
(FMVTPA) Grant entered into by the Office of the Attorney General (FMVTPA) and the
City of Sanford Police Department.
* NOTE: (1) Temporary Contracts Technician Position and (l) Temporary Part-Time
Secretary Position Authorized in the Community Development Department are
authorized contingent upon and concurrent with continued grant funding via the
Community Development Department.
* NOTE: (1) Temporary "Building official position is tempoarily authorized in the
Community Development Department retroactive to July 26, 1997 for a period not to
exceed six (6) months.
