Letter of Compliance
This correspondence is in reference to the recently installed TPO roof system located at 500 Central Park Drive in
Sanford, Florida. The above referenced installation was done on an existing standing seam metal roof deck using a GAF
60-mil TPO roof system. Evaluation of the roof criteria and installation was done by an examination of photographs
obtained from Alpha Roofing & Sheet Metal, LLC.
The existing roof deck consisted of a standing seam metal roof deck, supported by 16 gauge steel purlins spaced at 60"
o.c. The recover roof fastening system was designated to be a GAF 60-mil TPO RhinoBonded onto the mechanically
fastened insulation plates, as per Florida Product Approval. #5293 Page 98, System No. R-182. This system has a
Design Pressure of -45 psf, which exceeds the Field Pressure of -28.3 psf. The maximum roof uplift pressure was P3
Corner at —71.5 psf. Based upon this criteria; the Florida Approval calls for preliminarily fastening the flute fill &
insulation using 6 fasteners per board and subsequently fastening 12.0" o.c. along the 16 gauge purlins in the Field Zone.
Enhancements are required within the Perimeter & Corner Zones.
Using a GAF fastening pattern recommendation, the spacing along the 16 gauge purlins was decreased to 6.0" o.c. in
both the Perimeter & Corner Zones. The insulation was preliminarily attached using Drill-Tec #12 screws w/plates and
secured into the purlins with Drill-Tec Purlin Fasteners and RhinoBond XHD Plates. The 60-mil GAF TPO was
subsequently RhinoBonded onto the insulation plates with a RhinoBond portable bonding tool.
Based upon examination of the photographs obtained from Alpha Roofing and the wind uplift pressure calculations; it is
evident that the roofing system is installed as per the above -referenced Florida Product Approval, and therefore is
acceptable. Note that the perimeter and corner enhancements recommended by GAF actually exceed the calculated
requirements, resulting in additional strength to the roof system. All wind uplift pressures and fastening patterns for the
perimeter and corner enhancements were calculated and verified by RE-CSI.
