Standard 300 using live fire tests. These systems have been proven to be successful hen designed and installed within the limita- tions established in this manual. Sketches and/or drawing# should be made of the system design for reference during the installation phase. At final testing, th se drawings shall be updated to "As - Builts" and a copy placed in a permanent Job File for future referdnee. All properly installd systems will operate automatically and manually. The Amerex KP -375 Wet Chemical System usel a liquid chemical designed to suppress fires using a process involving: 1)The saponification ollsurface grease, 2)The cooling effects of water vaporization, 3) The inerting effects of resultant team formation and 4) the interruption of the chemical chain reaction of combustion. There are two basic systems: 1) A single cylind r system and 2) a twin manifolded cylin- der system. From these basic systems it is possible tolpreate systems using combinations of the two basic systems. Such as, a three cylinder systemere two cylinders are manifolded to- gether & the third is installed as a single cylinder. Manifolding two cylinders together is advantage ius for it allows the installer up to twice as many flow points on a single distribution network. The nstaller is permitted to manifold the dis- charge of two cylinders, yielding as many as 22 flow p ints, which may be used in a single distri- bution system. The result is a reduction in the amount f piping required to install the 22 flow points. The type of system required for a particular inst Ilation will be determined through the guidelines covered in the "Design Section" of the man I. The following portion of the "Design Section" de lis with the distribution network limits which must be used in creating a single cylinder or twi cylinder manifolded system. These particular piping networks use 1/2" pipe as the supply ne, which runs from the distributor block to the first tee. The piping from the first tee to the begi ining of the last nozzle branch is called the supply branch and is 1/2" or 3/8" depending on the sy em requirements. The limitations placed on these distribution sys ms are broken into two categories: 1) Single Cylinder System, 2) Twin Cylinder Manifolded Pystem. Limitations for both categories are detailed in the following pages, information foundse where has no influence on the limits of these systems. - Sn—tiI F, Design Page IV -146'j I APRIL 15, 1996 IAmere:.
