Removal shall include concrete slab and foundation. 26.2 Demolish and completely remove from the site an existing canopy, its supports and foundations except as noted. This work shall be accomplished in a manner which will not interfere with the Owner's use of the building or premises. Care shall be taken when removing roofing shingles where canopy meets existing building. Shingles shall be saved from canopy roof and re -used. Provide temporary roofing or coordinate with roofers to insure a watertight roof until final roof- ing is accomplished. 2B.3 Demolition necessary for other building alteration work shall be accomplished by the General Contractor or by the trades he assigns to this work. Section 2C Site Grading 2C. 1 All grade surfaces shall be sloped to drain away from buildings. It is the intent to do what grading is necessary to allow the surface water access away from the buildings without the use of ditches or other unsightly abrupt changes in grade. 2C.2 All fill material below sub -base at paved areas under new construction areas shall be free of organic materials and compacted to Standard Proctor Test 95% dry density. 2C.3 All areas of the project shall be smooth graded and depressions filled and compacted to within 3" of proposed finish grade except at paved or walk areas. Paved areas shall be graded to within 7" of proposed finish grade. Apply ata rate of one (1) gallon per square foot for- flat areas: 2 gallons per five (5) lineal feet at exterior faced walls. Submit chemical to Architect for approval. 211.2 GUARANTEE A. Upon completion of soil treatment, and as -a condition of final acceptance, furnish the Owner a written insured guarantee. B. The guarantee shall state that the application was made at the concentration, rates and methods, which comply with these specifications. C. The effectiveness of the treatment is guaranteed for not less than five (5) years, without additional cost to the Owner. At the end of the five year period the Owner shall be offered a . renewable contract (guarantee) on a year to year basis, at the Owner's option, at an agreed upon annual fere. D. Re -Treatment, upon evidence of subterranean termite activity, shall be at no charge to the Owner, and in .accordance with accepted trade practices. E. Damage to the building caused by termites shall be corrected without cost to the Owner, up to $5,000.00 in value. Section 2F New Paving and Sub -base 2F.1 Subbase shall consist of 6" of lime rock rolled and compacted to 98% modified Proctor. 217.2 The sub -base shall be primed and sanded in accordance with D.O.T. Specifications. 2F.3 Surface shall be 1" D.O.T. Type 1 Asphaltic Concrete compacted to a minimum density of 95% and 2,000 pounds stability in accordance with 1979 revised D.O.T. tests. 2F.4 Provide sealer at parking areas.
