PVC conduit (EPC-40—PVC) shall be used only in earth and installed per Articles 300 and 347 of the National Electrical Code. Make all PVC couplings watertight. Rigid heavy wall galvanized steel schedule 40 conduit shall be used in above grade locations. Minimum size shall be 1/2 inch. Flexible conduit shall be galvanized steel flexible conduit with NEMA 3R jacket. B. All conductors shall be 600V Type THW or THWN copper, rated at 75 degrees C. Interrupt capacity of all breakers as shown. Panels shall have opper busses. Bolt—on Breakers. Panels shall be equal to Square D type NQOB, factory assembled. Panel P1 shall have two 225A frame sub—feed breakers. GROUNDING: The entire electrical system, and all electrical equipment shall be grounded and electrically continuous and shall per Art. 250 of the National Electrical Code. SWIMMING POOL GROUNDING AND BONDING: Comply with bonding and grounding of following per N.E.C.. Article 680. All metallic parts of the pool structure including re—inforcing metal of the pool shell coping and deck. All metal fittings within or attached to the pool structure. Metal parts of electric equipment associated with the pool water circulating system, including pump motors. Metal raceways, piping, and all metal parts within 5 feet of the inside walls of the pool and any observation stands, towers or platforms within 12 feet above minimum level of the pool that are not separated from the pool by a permanent barrier. All parts specified herein to be bonded together shall be connected to a common bonding grid with a copper conductor (#8 AWG or larger). The common bonding grid shall be permitted to be the wall of the bolted metal pool. RELATED WORK. Refer to the Civil Engineering Drawings for all concrete work and all earthwork (excavation, trenching and backfilling) requirements related to the pool lighting and electrical installations. SCOPE OF WORK. The work shall include furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to provide fixtures, poles and all accessories as shown on the drawings. The Lighting Systems shall be Underwriters' Laboratory Listed Suitable for Wet Location. CODES: A. Comply with NFPA 70, "Notional Electrical Code" and ANSI C2, "National Safety Electrical Code" B. Comply with SBCCI's Standard Building Code. C. Comply with NFPA 78, "Lightning Protection Code" D. I.E.S. requirements for Swimming Pool Lighting. SUBMITTALS: A. Product data describinq fixtures, lamps, ballasts and poles. Include Luminaire U.L. File Number, and Model and Part Numbers of actual equipment to be supplied.Certify that luminaire. assembly meets or exceeds structural strength as required herein. B. Computer derived lighting layout, prepared in accordance wth the I.E.E. recommendations showing point by point maintained footcandle levels at the pool surface, maximum to minimum ratio. Show provisions of light shields or other modifications of luminaires for control of spill and glare. C. Shop drawing of the luminaire assembly and its interface to the required poles. The drawing shall show all components and hardware including cross arms, ballast box assemblies and attachments. Include size, strength and type of material. Specify all coatings and finishes of all components and hardware. D. Drawing showing dead load plus wind load calculations of lighting pole with all lighting fixtures, support arms and anciliary items attached. Drawing shall include dimensions showing depth of burial and pole height above grade. Design shall be per Standard Building Code. Drawing with ail calculations shall be signed and sealed by a State of Floriau_ Licensed Professional Engineer. Soil test data for calculations shall be provided by the Owner. E. Complete photometric reports from an independent source rr luminaire proposed for the system. F. Certified copies of Life Test Data by certified testing laboratory, for selected lamp, showing lumen output and correlated color temperature measured over the rated life 1' the lamp. Provide copy of Test Procedure used in performing these tests including the sampling method of selecting the lamp test specimens. G. Statement of warrantees for parts and labor. WARRANTY PROVISIONS: A. Luminaire Assembly: Luminaire assembly shall be warranted in writing for a period of ten (10) years. Any parts that shall be found defective shall be replaced free of any material or labor charges to the customer for the first five years. LIGHTING PERFORMANCE CRITERIA A. Refer to Drawing Notes on Sheet E-1. 3 MATERIALS A. Luminaires, Ballasts, Lamps, Cross Arms: The luminaire assembly shall consist of lamp, lamp socket, reflector, lens, lamp housing, adjustable aiming mounting devices, galvanized steel crossarms, wiring harnesses, pole clamps. B. The luminaire assembly as shown on the manufacturer's submittal shall be capable of withstanding forces resulting from a 125 MPH wind with 1.3 gust without damage or misalignment of the luminaire or the assembly C. Ballasts shall be U.L. listed. D. Ballast Housings shall be die cast aluminum and shall be integrally mounted on the luminaire. Ballast housing shall include aiming degree markers for reference when fixtures must be relocated for relamping. E. Luminaire lens shall be heavy duty 1/8 inch minimum thickness tempered glass for resistance to shock and impact. Lens shall have silicon weatherproof gasket. Lens ring shall be stainless steel. Positive locking, stainless steel latches shall be provided for securing the lens to the reflector. Provide stainless steel lens ring. Provide acvtivated charcoal filter with weep hole to prolong optical performance. G. Safety chain shall be #12 stainless steel. H. Reflector shall be spun aluminum and shall have an Alzak weather finish J. Lamp socket shall be 5 KV corrosion resistant porcelain with nickel plated lamp grip. Wires shall be protected against abrasion. K. All exposed hardware shall be stainless steel, galvanized steel or aluminum. L. All interior wiring for luminaires shall be 14 AWG or larger. All wiring on the luminaire assembly shall comply with the National Electrical Code. M, Aiming brackets shall be pre—set at the factory to computer engineered layout and shall have a positive repositioning stop. N, All steel shall be hot dip galvanized after fabrication. P. Lamps shall be 400 watt metal halide. R. Poles shall be square tapered prestressed concrete. Poles shall be the products of Accord Industries Concrete Industries Division, Sherman Jtility Structures, Inc., or approved equal. 1. Poles shall be designed to withstand deadloods plus wind loads up to 110 MPH with 1.3 gusting factor with all luminaires, cross arms and auxiliary components attached. 2, Pole manufacturer shall have produced concrete poles in the United States for a minimum of 10 years, and shall have a minimum of 10 years experience in design and production of concrete poles of lengths up to 100 feet. 3. Poles shall have a smooth natural form finish and shall be soft gray in color. 5. Poles shall not have any exposed steel at the tip or butt of the pole.Strands shall be burned back a minimum of 3/4" and sealed with epoxy resin. 6. A 4" x 8" conduit opening in the pole, centered at 18" below grade shall be provided. 7. Provide a 2 1/2" x 8" reinforced handhole frame with cover at the cross arm level for installation and maintenance of electrical wiring. 8. A #4 AWG stranded copper ground conductor shall be imbedded in the pole and electrically bonded to the reinforcing steel. Terminate the ground conductor in a tank ground at the cross arm level and below below rade. The tank ground shall provide a 1/2" topped insert at the pole face for grounding pole hardware. TESTING A. Aiming of luminaires shall be pre—set at factory and marked Markings shall be visably engraved. Field check aiming after lighting has been completed. B. Tests shall be conducted with all luminaires turned on. C. Perform photometric tests during initial hours of the lighting system operation. Initial horizontal foot candle average light level shall be 1251 of the maintaioned average level based on a Maintenance Factor of 0.8. after adjustment for any tilt factor. Initial photometric tests shall -not be conducted until the lighting system has been operated for a minimum of 100 hours with all luminaires on. D. Number of locations and spacing of test stations for measuring footcandles shall be in accordance .with the Illumination Engineering Society (I.E.S.) recommendations. Footcandle recdings shall be taken with calibration certifiedphotometer. The test cell shall be in the horizontal positions 36" above surface .for each test station location. E. Spill and Glare: Spill light readings shall be taken along the property lies of the adjoining property and towards the pool with all lights on. INSTALLATION A. Provide lightning protection for poles: Comply with NFPA 78, "lightning Protection Code", and Underwriters" Laboratory UL -96 and .JL -96A. All materials shall be U.L. approved and labeled. Lightning rods shall be a solid copper points "1/2" x 24" and s' poll be anchored to pole approximately 6 from top and shad be electrically bonded to the #4 copper pole ground conductor. B. Ground rod >�hall be 3/4" x 20'-0" copper clad steel and shall be driv3n approximately 3 feet. from pole base and. shall be connected to #4 copper pole ground conductor by. approved grcund connector or by exothermic fusion welding. C, All metallic components (cross arms, pole -hardware, disconnect switch, enclosures, raceway and conduits shall be electrically bonded to the pole ground conductor. D. Excavate holes, set poles tp proper depths and align as shown on approved Shop Drawing for Pole 'Design and Installation. E, Install light pole wiring per manufacturer's instructions. Provide wire mesh cable grips to support weight of cables.
