GENERAL NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS AND SHALL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY
ERROR, INCONSISTENCY PRIOR TO BIDDING AND/OR PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.
2. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIAR WITH LOCAL CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE
WORK IS TO BE PERFORMED AND CORRELATE PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS WITH REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
3. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO HAVE INSPECTED THE SITE AND REVIEW ALL EXISTING CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS PRIOR TO PRICING. FAILURE
OF THE CONTRACTOR TO INSPECT EXISTING CONDITIONS SHALL IN NO WAY RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR FROM ANY OBLIGATION WITH RESPECT
TO HIS WORK.
4. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO BE THOROUGHLY FAMILIAR WITH THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND DOCUMENTS. THE FAILURE OR OMISSION OF
ANY CONTRACTOR TO EXAMINE ANY FORM, INSTRUMENT, OR DOCUMENT, SHALL IN NO WAY RELIEVE THE CONTRACTOR FROM ANY OBLIGATION
WITH RESPECT TO HIS WORK.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL TIMES ENFORCE STRICT DISCIPLINE AND GOOD ORDER AMONG THE CONTRACTOR'S EMPLOYEES AND
SHALL NOT EMPLOY ON THE WORK ANY UNFIT PERSON OR ANYONE NOT SKILLED IN THE TASK ASSIGNED THEM.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPERVISE AND DIRECT THE WORK, USING THE CONTRACTOR'S BEST SKILL AND ATTENTION. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURES, AND I
SHALL COORDINATE ALL PORTIONS OF THE WORK.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE ALL NOTICES AND COMPLY WITH ALL LAWS, CODES, ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS AND LAWFUL y
ORDERS OF ANY PUBLIC AUTHORITY BEARING ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
8. THE ARCHITECT/OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ITEMS INCORPORATED INTO THE WORK, WHICH FAIL TO MEET THE SPECIFIED
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS. THE ARCHITECT FURTHER RESERVES THE RIGHT, AND WITH OUT PREJUDICE TO OTHER RECOURSE THE ARCHITECT
MAY TAKE, TO ACCEPT NON -COMPLYING ITEMS SUBJECT TO AN ADJUSTMENT IN THE CONTRACT AMOUNT AS APPROVED BY THE ARCHITECT AND
THE OWNER.
9 THE CONTRACTOR WARRANTS TO THE OWNER THAT ALL MATFRIALS AND EQUIPMENT FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT WILL BE NEW
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, AND THAT ALL WORK WILL BE OF GOOD QUALITY, FREE FROM FAULTS AND DEFECTS AND IN CONFORMANCE
WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. ALL WORK NOT CONFORMING TO THESE REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING SUBSTITUTIONS NOT PROPERLY
APPROVED AND AUTHORIZED, MAY BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SPECIFIED FOR REUSE ARE TO BE PROPERLY
CLEANED AND RECONDITIONED PRIOR TO REINSTALLATION.
10. IT IS THE INTENT OF THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE INSTALLATION, WHICH WILL OPERATE SATISFACTORILY. I
ANY APPARATUS, APPLIANCE, MATERIAL, APPURTENANCE OR LABOR THAT MAY BE NECESSARY TO COMPLETE WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
INTENT OR PURPOSE OF THESE PLANS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND INSTALLED, WITHOUT EXTRA COST, AS IF MENTIONED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS,
OF SHOWN IN THE PLANS.
11. ALL DIMENSIONS INDICATED "CLR" TO BE MAINTAINED AS CLEAR FINISHED DIMENSIONS.
12. ALL PENETRATIONS IN FLOOR, ROOF OR WALLS ARE TO BE SEALED TO MAINTAIN STRUCTURAL, WATERPROOF, FIRE -RATING, AND
FIREPROOFING INTEGRITY.
13. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR OF DAMAGE DONE TO PROPERTY BY PERSONS IN HIS EMPLOY OR IN THE EMPLOY OF
HIS SUBCONTRACTORS.
14. PROTECT ALL WORK FROM DAMAGE THAT IS TO REMAIN IN PLACE. USE BARRICADES, TARPAULIN, TEMPORARY WALLS, PLYWOOD,
PLANKING, MASKING, OR OTHER SUITABLE MEANS AND METHODS AS APPROVED. IF WORK TO REMAIN IN PLACE IS DAMAGED, RESTORE TO
ORIGINAL CONDITION AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO OWNER.
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE PREMISES IN A CLEAN & ORDEPLY FASHION DURING THE ENTIRE CONSTRUCTION PERIOD,
REMOVING ALL TRASH & DEBRIS AS REQUIRED,
16. CONTRACTOR TO REVIEW AND COORDINATE KEYING SYSTEM WITH OWNER AND PROVIDE TYPE REQUIRED (MASTER, GRAND- MASTER,
OR GREAT -GRANDMASTER) INTEGRAL TO MATCH OWNER'S EXISTING SYSTEM, NO EXCEPTIONS.
17. MATCH ALL EXISTING FINISHES U.N.O. (INCLUDES FINISH HEIGHTS)
18. FIRE ALARM AND SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEMS SHALL ALWAYS BE ACTIVE. HEADS MAY BE COVERED DURING HOURS OF CONSTRUCTION
BUT THE COVERS SHALL BE REMOVED AT THE END OF THE DAY. IF THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, THEN INSTALL A FIRE WATCH UNTIL THESE SYSTEMS ARE
ACTIVE
19. ALL THE AREAS UNDER DEMOLITION/CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE KEPT UNDER NEGATIVE PRESSURE RELATIVE TO THE SURROUNDING
OCCUPIED AREAS. NEGATIVE PRESSURE SHALL BE MAINTAINED PRIOR TO ANY DEMOLITION/CONSTRUCTION WORK. A MANOMETER SHALL BE
