Dyna-Flow pipe is the "original" high -strength lightwall sprinkler pipe: Dyna-Flow has outstanding hydraulic capabilities and is recognized as the most popular alternative to Schedule-10 pipe. Lightweight, easy to cut and easy to handle for installation. Dyna-Flow is a valuable addition to any fire protection system. With an inside diameter of up to 11 % larger than Schedule-40 and up to 7% larger than Schedule-10, Dyna-Flow pipe hydraulics are exceptional. Larger I.D.s enable Dyna-Flow, and related components, to be down -sized within the system, thus increasing the potential for job cost savings. For complete Hazen -Williams charts, refer to "Dyna-Flow Hydraulic Data Tables." Dyna-Flow products are coated with an environmentally approved and specially formulated modified -acrylic or water -based coating. This durable coating is paintable. The black coating acts as an excellent primer and is resistant to weathering and U.V. degradation from outdoor storage. Metallurgical properties provide excellent fabrication characteristics for end prep finishes, welding and roll grooving. No special process or equipment are needed for fabrication and installation. Ductile Iron ANSI B16.3 Manufactured by: Central Grooved Piping Products, Inc. a subsidiary of Central Sprinkler Company 451 North Cannon Avenue, Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446 ElProduct Description Central Ductile Iron threaded fittings conform to ANSI B16.3 and are higher in strength and more corrosion resistant than cast iron fittings. The additional strength is provided by the ductile properties making up the fitting. This is accomplished by adding magnesium while the iron is being poured into its final cast shape. This provides an advantage as the fittings are not as susceptible to leaks or cracking and they are also lighter than standard cast iron. Caution: Installers who have not used ductile iron threaded fittings before should be instructed that the fitting is stronger than the pipe and over -tightening the fitting can create leaks and cause damage to pipe threads. In general, there is about one-half a turn difference between cast iron. and ductile iron fittings. Apply Teflon tape or high quality pipe joint compound on the pipe threads and tighten two to three turns beyond hand tight. If you are using an automatic make - on machine, please exercise caution in setting your machine to the proper parameters prior to tightening fittings onto the male pipe threads. Check gasket color code to ensure that the gasket is suitable for intended application. 2. Cover edges and outer surface of the gasket with a thin layer of petroleum -free silicon lubricant or equivalent. Silicon gasket lubricant and tri-seal freezer gaskets are recommended for freezer applications. Please refer to "Gasket Recommendations" sheet for additional information. 3. Install the gasket by placing the gasket over the pipe and ensure that the gasket lip does not overhang the pipe end. Bring both pipe ends together, ensure proper alignment and slide the gasket into position, properly centering it between the grooved portions of each pipe. 4. The Figure 772 Coupling has a tongue and recess arrangement. Place the coupling housings over the gasket so that the housing keys fully engage into grooves making sure that the tongue is mated to the recess. Insert the bolts into. the coupling and assemble the nuts onto the bolts. Note: Selected sizes of the figure 772 Coupling incorporate a "Universal Tongue and Recess" feature which will be incorporated on additional sizes in the future. These coupling housings have identical tongue/ recess pairs at each end, which allow an engagement fit no matter which end of the housing is brought together. For additional information, please contact Central 5. Tighten nuts uniformly until proper torque is obtained (see chart), keeping the gaps at the bolt pads evenly spaced . Gasket should not be visible after tightening. The Figure 772 couplings do. not have to meet Bolt Pad to Bolt Pad. to insure proper installation. Caution -uneven tightening can cause gasket pinching. Note: Never remove any piping component without verifying that the system is depressurized and drained. Central. They incorporate a unique center strut design. The Model A Sprinklers are intended for installation in accordance with current NFPA 13 Standards. They are available in a wide variety of orifice sizes, temperature ratings, finishes, and corrosion resistant coatings. Operation: A fusible alloy is sealed into a bronze center strut by a stainless steel ball. When the alloy melts at its rated temperature, the ball is forced upward into the center strut, releasing the two ejectors and operating the sprinkler. Unlike most other sprinkler designs, the alloy is not exposed to atmospheric conditions that could affect its proper functioning. It is also less susceptible to mechanical damage since there are no protruding elements, extending beyond the sprinkler frame. At this point, the deflector drops down below the ceiling Description exposing the glass bulb to the fires heat. The heat bursts the bulb resulting in a rapid expulsion of the sealing cap. Water The Central GB4 and GB4-FR Royal Flush Adjustable Concealed Sprink-lers are standard spray sprinklers that allow over'/2" (12.7 mm) of adjustment with an aesthetically pleasing cover plate design. The GB4 is a standard response sprinkler using a 5mm glass bulb and the GB4-FR is a quick response sprinkler using a 3mm glass bulb. These sprinklers are perfect for applications in light or ordinary hazard at standard spacing for projects that require UL, cUL, MEA and/or FM Listing and Approvals. By adding the option of the clean room seal, the GB4 can be used in areas where dust or air flow cannot be allowed between the room and the area above the ceiling. This option is used extensively in "clean room" applications where the integrity of the ceiling is critical. The Clean Room Seal is U.L. Listed for G134 only. It is NOT Listed for the GB4-FR. See the clean room seal data sheet for details. Inherent in the design is the capability to compensate for ceiling heights which vary with respect to the sprinkler system piping. This significant feature allows the Central G134 and GB4-FR sprinklers to seat flush with ceilings that can fluctuate nearly %"(12.7 mm) in height. The 3'/" (82.5 mm) diameter cover plate presents an unobstructed and aesthetic appearance. The thin cover plate projects a mere %fi' (4.8 mm) below the ceiling. The operating mechanism consists of a liquid -filled 3mm or 5mm frangible capsule that is only 20 mm in length. Operation: The Central GB4 and GB4-FR sprinklers absorb heat through the ceiling cover plate which is soldered to the adjustable retainer ring with a fusible alloy. At the rated temperature, the alloy can now flow in a pattern engineered to meet the coverage requirements.
