AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3176, SECTION 17-31,
PARAGRAPH (d), WHICH ESTABLISHES FINES FOR
IMPROPER PARKING SHALL BE AMENDED TO INCLUDE
FINES FOR MAKING AN ILLEGAL LEFT TURN IN THE
BUSINESS DISTRICT INTO A PARKING SPACE;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida,
enacted Ordinance No. 3176 on October 11, 1993, which Ordinance
amended Chapter 17, Article II of the Sanford City Code; and
WHEREAS, Section 17-31(d) shall include a fine for making an
illegal left turn in the business district into a parking space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA.
SECTION 1: That the preceding Section is amended to
include a fine for making an illegal left turn in the business
district into a parking space.
SECTION 2: That Section 17-31(d) is amended to read as
follows:
(d) Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for parking along a
yellow curb, in a loading zone or on a sidewalk or
crosswalk, or for making an illegal left turn in the
business district into a parking space, if paid within
five (5) working days, after five (5) working days,
thirty ($30.00) dollars, after fourteen (14) calendar
days, forty dollars ($40.00).
If fines are not received within thirty (30)
calendar days, the registered owner will be advised by
mail. Fifteen (15) days after receipt of the initial
notification, a warning of summons will be sent. Fifteen
days after the warning, a hold will be placed upon the
vehicle registration, and consideration for further
action will be made.
SECTION 4: CONFLICTS. If any section or portion of a section
of this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or
unconstitutional, it shall not be held to impair the validity,
force Or effect of any other section or part Of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5: SEVERABILITY. That all Ordinances or parts of
Ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall become
effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
