Old Business
• Christina HoUerbach moved to approve the Museum Advisory Board minutes. Seconded
bvSean McCann. Motion carried.
* Motion by Scott Carpenter to approve Marketing/Programming, and Collection's
meeting minutes seconded byChristina HV||erbach. Motion carried.
* Ms. Stephenson shored information regarding motion within the Florida Legislature
that would change the process ofobtaining ownership of abandoned artifacts. If the
motion passes, this would bebeneficial tothe Museum.

Docent position — interviews have been completed and g candidate selection was
submitted to Human Resources. Awaiting a response from HR.
0 Collections working group accepted and rejected the following items:
o Accepted: a post card submitted by Sean McCann and 8 photograph of the
Mayfair pool and Mayfair hotel movie premier.
oRejected: aframed blueprint of 419 Magnolia Avenue. Due to it being anewer
building, the print was givenbackbothe original owner to be hung in their home.
A Stenstrom Realty address book, already in the Museum collection.
* Discussed the D.A.R.loan, 30 books of meeting minutes and scrapbooks, which are in
archival boxes and are not available to the public. Due to the requirement that all items
are open tothe public the loan will be given back tothe D.A.R.organization atthe end
ofthe|oen.
• Also discussed an exhibit for Jackie Ca||n. However, the family member wanted to have
full control over the exhibit, a memorial to his mother, and what would be displayed.
Therefore, this collection will not be accepted.
° Ms. Baker proposed tu Ms. Stephenson tocontact her office regarding dual exhibition
onJackie Cg||o.
~ Ms' Baker also spoke about the collection policy and hos asked that Ms. Stephenson
stay within the scope of the collections policy. Ms. Stephenson stated that the
Collections group isworking toaccept only items that have adirect history with the City
of Sanford.
• The mnarketino/pnogrannrninQgroup hos been working on a new brochure ad logo. A
draft has been created, Ms. Stephenson asked the board to review and provide any
comments and/or suggestions.
New Business
Election of Officers
~ Mr. Ryan Handley was nominated as Chairperson and Christina Ho||erbach was
nominated as Vice -Chairperson.
* Nomination was approved byall board members.

w Discuss whether the Museum should have its own channel or a sub -channel. VVmMdng
with K8s, Lisa Holder to determine the best way to use You Tube in order to post
segmented presentations and/or short videos about the history of Sanford.
* Ms. Baker suggested that the Museum have their own YouTube channel, however she is
not sure of any policy that the City has for videos. Although, if the Museum cannot have
their own YouTube channel, continue to use the current social media, Faceboohand
|nstagrano,with videos and reels.

Recently created a "Mayfair" golf history exhibit.

Georgetown was recently placed on the Historical registry. Ms. Stephenson is
working with Julie Scofield to help share this information with the public. Ms.
HoUerbach iSworking with Ms. Scofield on getting a Main Street grant that will help
both Goldsboro and the commercial Historic District.

Ms. Stephenson would like to discuss ideas to celebrate the Museums 65m
anniversary atthe next board meeting.
w Label for the cornerstone for the old City Hall. The label would include information
onhow the building was built aswell aothe Forrest Lake scandal.
� N1S. Stephenson would like to revamp the ZVra Neale Hurston exhibit. As well as
create an exhibit about Bvira Garner, who wrote on similar topics as Zora Neale
Hurston.

Historic Preservation month "Sanford Saves." Photos of items that are over SOyears
o!d. Some of these images will be kept at the Museum, which will assist when
citizens ask about photos ofhistorical items.

Commissioner Britton, asked how would a citizen/resident know that an item might
be historical? Ms. Stephenson suggested speaking to Julie Scofield of the Historic
Preservation Society who would be able to assist in determining whether or not an
item would beconsidered historical.
