In the attached memo, Officer Joshua Memminger has stated his intention to run for
Seminole School Board District 5. According to City Admin Policy 5.2, an official
request must be submitted through his Department Director to the City Manager. Officer
Memminger is aware that he must resign is elected. Chief Smith has approved Officer
Memminger's request contingent on your approval.

SUBJECT: Political Candidacy
I am writing this memorandum to formally announce that I am a candidate for Seminole
School Board District 5 in the upcoming election dated for 8/23/2022. According to city
policy, this memorandum serves as notice to the chain of command for the Sanford
Police Department and the Human Resources Director of the City of Sanford. I obtained
legal counsel on this matter from the Florida Attorney General, Florida Division of
Elections and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement before filing for office.
