INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR

11 Horne Products appreciates your recent purchase of a maintenance free prime windaw, which wil; ist. rot, mildew, or warp. This is 'a quality product that left our factory in good conditan - proper hanrndinstallationarejustasImportantasgooddesignandworkmanship. Piease follow t1mmendationstoallowthinproducttocompieteitsfunction.
Handle units one at a time in the closed and locked position and take care not to scratch frame or gortobendthenailingfin.
Set unit plumb and square into opening and make sure that there is 3/16' ± 1/16" clearance arouncframe. Fasten unit into opening in the closed and locked position, making sure that fastenersscrewedinstraightinordertoavoidtwistingorbowingoftheframe. Make sure the; sill is straightlevel. Check operation of unit before any and atl fasteners are set
Use # 8 sheet metal or wood screws with a minimurrt of 1' penetration into the framing (stud). Place
screws (two at each comer) 3' from end of fin. For positive and negative DPs (design pressures) t36, do not exceed 24" spacing of additional screws, For OPs from 35.1 to 60, do not exceed IS". Irloadbearingshimadjacenttoeachanchor. Use shim where space exceeds 1/16'•
Flash over head and caulk outside perimeter in accordance with code requirements and good installipractices.
i. Fill voids between frame and construction with loose batten type insulation or non -expanding aei
foam specifically formulated for windows and doors to eliminate drafts. The use of expanding seitypeinsulatingfoam, which can bow the frame, waives all stated warnarties.
Remove plaster, morta-, paint and any other debris that may have collected on the unt. and makethatsash/vent tracks and interlocks are also clear. Do not use abrasives, solvents, ammonia, vinf
alkaline, or acid solutions for clean-up, especially with insulated Blass units as their use could a
chemical breakdown of the glass seal. Take care not to scratch glass; scratches severely weaken ianditcouldeventuallybreakfromthermalexpansionandcontraction. Clean units with water anddetergentasyouwouldyouautomobile.

The single hung jamb has an exterior track (screen area -- bottom boll of window) and on interior track (operating sash o upper hallofwindow). In these areas only, drill 1/8" pilot holes through the jambs into the mullion, then re —drill the jar X only with3/16" clearance holds. Holes should be spaced evenly on approximately 12" to 16" centers. Alloch windows to
mullion using #8 x 3/4" sheet metal screws (not Included) through drilled holes as shown below. To nvoid jnrnb distortion, do not overllgnlen screws. U The gapbetween

window mecsuring 73" wide by 62" high ouerall. The interior active panel measured 37-3116'
wide by 50-318" high. Die fired lite was glazed to the frame membere, providing a viewing area
of 33-7/8" wide by 48-118" high. Frame and paned members were not thermally broken_ One (1)
metal spring loaded snap lock was located at 11-112- from, each end of the active muting stile.
The keepers were extruded onto the iambs of lock positions. A metal roller/plastic housing was
l000ted at each end of the active panel bottom rail. Tile aajt.-e panel was of single screw
e z 3/4')ph. pan head scree, coped corner construction. The frame was of double screw
x 3/4') ph- pan head screw coped corner construction. Tyre fixed meeting stile was fastened to
the head and sill with one (1) (#8 x 314") ph. pan heed screw.
Glazing. The aciive panel and fixed iite were interior glazed using (0.187" thick) tempered glass
with a silicone back bedding and a snap in rigid vinyl glazing bead.
