PLUMBING WORK
SPECIFICATIONS
sue'" SCOPE
Furnish all labor and material, piping, valves, fittings, etc. for
the installation' of all plumbing fixtures and dental equip-
ment called for on the Drawings, inclusive of final connection.
Plumbing fixtures to be furnished herein, unless otherwise
noted. Installation shall include all fittings, which are com-
ponents of dental equipment as provided by the equipment
manufacturer prior to or at time of installation.
VDental equipment to be furnished by Owner unless otherwise
noted.
DENTAL UTILITY SERVICE CENTERS
Provide the following utilities to designated locations on drawing
Before installation a template will be furnished by and positioned with
the assistance of the Equipment Contractor's representative.
The template will show details (size and height) of terminal fittings and
location of bolt holes required for securing the dental utility center.
Where pipes come through concrete, sleeves are to be used providing a
'/2" clearance around pipes. Openings are to be sealed before final
connections are made.
Cold water line shall loop from Dental Lavatory in each Treatment Room
to Dental Utility Service Centers within the room, and have separate
shut-off valve.

DENTAL CENTRAL VACUUM SYSTEMS
Vacuum System - Dry
t ' i Power Unit (by Owner)
Exhaust to outside. Minimum size of exhaust vent to be full
size of exhaust on unit.
SP Separator (by Owner)
Supply and install direct or indirect waste connection as
required by local code. Indirect waste shall consist of a
properly vented funnel drain with trap and a cold water
faucet 2" above rim of funnel. Omit faucet at direct waste.
Both direct or indirect waste shall be as close to floor as
possible and shall not exceed 12" aff TO THE TOP OF
THE FUNNEL ON DIRECT WASTE.
aTermination Points - As designated on drawings
Run" Schedule 40 PVC piping from power unit
to all termination points. Outlet at the power unit to be
" AFF. Install separate floor fittings (by Owner)
where required at termination points. All connections shall
be long sweep fittings. Run " PVC piping from
separator to power unit. Make all final connections to all
component parts of this system. Test entire system for
leaks and leave system in a completely operating condition.
See manufacturer's specifications for full and complete
details of system.
Vacuum System - Wet

PVC schedule 40 piping from power unit to all
termination points. No lines shall vbe run overhead. Outlet
at the power unit to bed. Install separate floor
fittings (by Owner) where required at termination point.
All connections shall be long sweep fittings. Make all final
connections to all component parts of this system. Test
entire system for leaks and leave system in a complete
operating condition. See manufacturer's specifications for
full and complete details of system.
WR Water Recycler (by Owner)
Provide cold water line gate valve and drain as required for
recycler when installed next to Vacuum Pump. See manu-
facturer's template for further details.
/COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM
aAir Compressor (by Owner) t
Run '/2" I.D. copper tubing from 12" AFF at compressor
location to all points marked FSC, WSC,&.. All fittings to
be brass or copper., Compression fittings are not to be used.
Provide '/2" female threaded adaptor and union coupler
at compressor. All air lines are tb be pressure -tested for
leaks at 150 psi maintained for a minimum of 24 hours
before pipes are concealed. Compressor shall be connected
prior to day of dental equipment installation.

Connect hot and cold water to mixing valve. Install union
connection at tempered outlet of mixing valve and run a
'/2" line concealed in wall to an outlet 18" AFF. Final
connection to be made to developing tank after installation
of counter.

floor construction.
E - 1" PVC, terminate with 3/8"copper tubing.
Piping - Type K or L pre -cleaned degreased, capped tubing.
Joints - Silver solder with melting point at 1000 deg F min.
Flare compression or threaded pipe fittings not
permitted -
Identification
Label pipelines with gas name at least every 20 ft.
Manifold to Station Test
System must be tested with manifold and outlet stations
assembled using dry Nitrogen at a pressure of 150 psi for 24
hours (+ 5 psi)
If pressure is not maintained each joint must be tested for
leaks
Each line and each outlet station must be tested individually
to insure that lines have not been crossed

All work to be done by a licensed plumber.

The Contractor shall obtain all permits and pay all fees
required for plumbing .inspections and approvals. See
General Condition notes.

The locations of radiators, fan coil units and baseboard
convectors shall be determined before templates for
dental equipment are positioned.

All plumbing lines shall be run concealed unless otherwise
specified. Where exposed, all lines and fittings shall be
chrome -plated .
6.
If water pressure exceeds 50 lbs., provide pressure reducing
valve at main cold water supply to premises. If water pres-
sure is below 25 lbs. a booster pump shall be provided.

Prior to the installation of dental equipment, all utilities
are to be completed and water lines flushed.
8.
All plumbing lines shall be protected against freeze ups at
all times.
9.
A water filter suitable for the premises shall be installed at
main cold water supply. Filter to be accessible.
