HVAC UNITS: Furnish and install a split system air, conditioning system as manufactured by General Electric, Carrier, Trane or Lennox.* The condensing unit shall be completely factory assembled and tested and shall include (hermetic or .semi -hermetic) compressor condensor coils, fan and motors, interconnecting wiring, low voltage. Control transformer, pre -wired control panel, and other necessary components mounted in weather -resistant steel cabinet with baked on finish. The unit shall be U.L. listed and labeled accordingly. The system shall have cooling capacity as listed in H.V.A.C. Schedule. The air handler shall be of same manufacturer, as the condensing unit with a electric resistance heating section. The unit shall have control transformer, limit control, manual shut-off, multi speed direct drive blower and cooling relay. SEQUENCE OF OPERATION FOR AHU #1 & HVAC #1 1. The contractor shall furnish and install allrequired components and wiring to accomplish the floowing sequences of operation for each A/C Unit. A. Unit shall be started and stopped thru.its respective thermostat (sub -base required with cool/heat) (on -off -auto position) in unison with its respective time clock. B. Room thermostat shall energize the units compressor thru single stage cooling and electric heater in sequence to maintain space temperature. (HVAC"#1 - 2 Stage Cooling) C. Provide limit controller in the return air that shall de -energize the indoor fan section and condensing unit. 3. CONTROLS: Thermostats for each unit shall be capable of controlling single stage cooling and single stage heating plus night set -back. Thermostats shall 'fie furnished with the appropriate sub-base,where required and shall have a clear plastic -locking cover. A. AHU fl, thermostat shall be Honeywell T8082A1031 W/Q682AI020 HVAC #1, thermostat shall be Honeywell T8-858/0682B B. Limit'Controller (Fire-Stat): ,Contractor shall furnish and install a Honeywell Model L4029E or equal manual reset limit control with case and cover, with fixed cutout set- ting @ 165°F, and approximately 25°F. drop to manual reset point, ele- ment insertion length of 7 -inches, bnit shall be U.L. Wiring in accordance with latest edition National Electrical Code (NEC) and/or applicable local, state and utility company rules, laws and ordinances. b. Secure all permits, inspections required for the installation of electrical work. 2. Verifications: a. Verify mounting heights, locations of electrical equipment before installation or rough-ing-in. Verify sizing, loading of equipment to be installed. b. Verify exact location of electrical service entrance including point of service, system characteristics; i.e., voltage, phase and available fault current. c. Verify all equipment for compatibility with service. 3. Wiring Methods: a. The Electrical Contractor shall cooperate with other contractors, install equipment in proper sequence so as riot to interfere with the progress of other contractors and give General Contractor all necessary information for making proper provisions for installation of his equipment. b. All materials shall be new, carry the Underwriter's label or be "listed" by that group, and be fully equal to makes specified- C. Use only insulated copper conductors in conduit. Safety Switches - Furnish safety switches of size and type indicated on drawings. Normal duty switches fusible, unless indicated otherwise. All exterior switches raintight. 8. Fuses - Furnish, install, Buss Fusetron dual element fuse for each active fuseholder, size as scheduled or required; no substitution. 9. Branch Circuit Panels: a. Branch circuit lighting panels equal to Square D or Westinghouse, with thermal magnetic breakers. b. Breakers shall have individual plastic cases sized as scheduled. Two pole and three pole breakers shall be common trip (single pole units with tie bars are not acceptable). C. Panel shall be surface, hinged door with neatly typed circuit directory card. d. Panel Circuiting: Re -assign circuits to properly balance the loads on the phases if final connections and test show it to be advisable. e. Panels shall be of sizes and types indicated on plans. They shall be of indicated service voltage and shall meet or exceed available fault current requirements. 10. Lighting Fixtures and Lamps: a. Furnish, install lighting fixtures, lamps as indicated on drawings. b. No substitutions on lighting fixtures except as approved. C. Verify exact locations of fixture outlets so as to cause no interference with piping, equipment and architectural. treatment . d. Ballasts - by "Advance" or equal, internally or externally fused, high power factory HPF, fully compatible with lamps shall carry UL label, ETL and CMB certifications of compliance, even though indicated fixture number may indicate otherwise. e. Furnish all fixtures with lamps as scheduled and/or required by final fixture selection. Lamps equal to FE rated 125 volt. 11. Wiring for Mechanical Equipment: a. Install the furnished thermostats and provide all control wiring for the heating and A/C unit. Pro- vide a raintight disconnect and all power wiring. ALL WIRING TO BE IN CONDUIT. b. Provide switches and all wiring for the various exhaust fans. 12. Grounding: a. Provide system ground as required by NEC and utility company. b. Bond mechanical equipment frames. C. Bond all service entrance equipment and conduit system. d. Provide all circuits with green ground wire. 13. Dimmers - Furnish when required equal to Hunt. Size ,as required by lighting circuit.. U.L. listed. Furnish with switch plate. As sized per minimum size equipment grounding conductors for grounding raceway and equipment per latest edition of National Electrical Code. 1.4.
