Size and grading standards of plant material shall conform to the latest edition of "U.S.A. Standards for Nursery Stock", by the American Association of Nurserymen, Inc. and be Florida #1 or better. 2. All plant material shall be free from insects and disease and be in good health. 3. All planting shall be done in accordance with acceptable horticultural practices. This is to include proper planting mix, plant bed and tree pit preparation, pruning, staking or guying, wrapping, spraying, fertilization, planting and adequate maintenance until acceptance by the Owner. 4. Plant material shall be quaranteed for a period of one year from date of acceptance. At the end of the guarantee period, dead plant material shall be replaced at no cost to the Owner. 5. Planting mixture shall consist- of 90% friable topsoil and 10% peat humus. A complete fertilizer 8-8-8 shall be added at the rate of 3 lbs. per cubic yard. 6. All plant material shall be mulched with 3" of clean pin`straw in plant beds and around newly planted trees. 7. All grass, other vegetation and debris shall be removed from all planting areas prior to planting. The Landscape Contractor shall remove from the site all excess excavated topsoil and all debris from this operation. All undisturbed soil shall be loosened to a depth of 6" below root ball. 8. The Landscape Contractor is advised of the presence of underground_ utilities and shall verify the existence and location of same before commencing any digging operations. The Landscape Contractor shall replace or repair utilities, paving, walks, curbing, etc. damaged in performance of this job at no additional cost to the Owner. 9.
