Subject: Existing Electrical Service
Dear Mr. Wynn:
Concerning the existing electrical service, please find enclosed
a letter dated June 12, 1989, regarding the existing calculated
connected electrical load.
The existing electrical service is at its maximum capacity. The
total building connected load is approximately 200 KW (555 amps
at 208 volt, 3 phase). The existing incoming service conductors
are rated for 620 amps.
Since no additional electrical load is being added in this
remodeling phase and eventually the existing overhead electrical
service is to be changed to a new underground service, the
existing service entrance conductors are to remain and not change
as indicated on the contract documents for this remodeling phase.
If there are any questions concerning the above, please contact

The existing overhead electrical service is 208Y/120 volt, 3
phase, 4 wire.
The electrical service consists of two main service disconnects
fusible). One main disconnect is rated 400 amp, fused at 300
amp, and serves the HVAC load and the other main disconnect is
rated 400 amp, fused at 300 amp, and serves lighting,
receptacle, and other equipment loads.
The incoming overhead electrical service conductors consist of
two parallel sets of (3) #350 MCM THW CU and 1#1/0 THW CU
neutral - (2) - 3" C. The service conductors are rated for 620
amps.
The electrical load breakdown is as follows:
400 Amp Disconnect for HVAC Load
Chiller - 75 HP
Fan - 10 HP
Well Pump - 5 HP
The total connected load is 90 HP (approximately 260 amps at 208
volt, 3 phase).
