'Request to: Sanford City Council
Subject: Permission to erect a lighted sign on church property
Dear Sirs,
We respectfully submit the following reasons for requesting per-
mission to place'a lighted sign in front of our church property.
1. The dignity of church functions being posted on a
read -a -board type sign.
2. Underground wirring is already run to the sight of
a former mercury vapor light.
3. An automatic timer is already installed.
4. At night there is near total darkness around the church.
5. The existing sign is poorly visible and at night is
unreadable.
6. Our ten acres. of land presently has no clear identifi-
cation.
7. With vandelism on the increase, the extra light at night
will be somewhat of a deterent to would-be vandals..
Gentlemen, thank you for your ruling -.in our favor. Our church con-
stituency of approximately 700.registered voters feel that this
addition will enable us to attract more passers-by and aid in
visitors locating our facilities. If you should have any doubt as
to our need of night time visibility, please feel free to drive by
and discover our problem.
