GENERAL • NOTES
1, THE INSTALLING CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE THE FIRE `ALARM
CONTRACTOR WITH ACCURATE MARKED UP DRAWINGS SHOWING ALL
JUNCTION BOXES, TERMINAL CABINETS, DEVICE LOCATIONS, CABLE ROUTING,
ETC. FOR THE USE IN MAKING "RECORD DRAWINGS". THE FIRE ALARM
COMPANY WILL REVISE DRAWINGS ACCORDINGLY.
2, CONDUIT ROUTING AND CONDUIT SIZE SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE
CONTRACTOR, IN C'ONJUNCTIO11 WITH (NEC), AND INDICATED ON THE
RECORD DRAWINGS. CONDUIT FILL SHALL NOT EXCEED 40 0.
3. FIRE ALARM WIRII`1G SHALL. BE INSTALLED PER NEC, MANUFACTURERS
INSTRUCTIONS, AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION (AHJ).
4. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE MOUNTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 72.
DETECTORS SHALL NOT BE LOCATED IN A DIRECT AIR --FLOW NOR CLOSER
THAN THREE FEET (3 FT) OF ANY AIR SUPPLY DIFFUSER,
5. ALL. WORK SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADOPTED EDITIONS OF
U.B.C. TITL'S 19, TITLE 24, NFPA, AND AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT
(ADA) AS REQUIRED BY THE GOVERING AGENCIES,
6, PRIMARY POWER SOURCE (120VAC) TO FACP AND POWER SUPPLIES MUST
BE ON A DEDICATED BRANCH CIRCUIT, FROM THE EMERGENCY GENERATO
(IF APPLICABLE), WITH THE DISCONNECTING MEANS MARKED "FIRE ALARM
CONTROL CIRCUIT". THE LOCATION OF THE DISCONNECT MUST BE.

APPLY AC VOLTAGE BEFORE DC VOLTAGE, WHEN POWERING (DOWN,
REMOVE DC SUPPLY BEFORE AC DISCONNECT,

12, AUDIBLE DEVICES SHALL USE SYNCHRONIZED TEMPORAL (CODE 3) TONE.
1 3, ALL DEVICES SHALL BE OPTIONALLY LABELED WITH THEIR ADDRESS OR
CIRCUIT NUMBER. ALL ADDRESSING SHALL BE NOTED ON THE RECORD
DRAWINGS.
14. PROVIDE WEATHERPROOF NEMA ENCLOSURES TO ALL DEVICES THAT ARE
EXPOSED TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
15, DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TESTING FOR DUCT DETECTORS MUST BE
PERFORMED BY THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR AFTER AIR HANDLER
SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN BALANCED. A WRITTEN COPY OF THESE TESTS
SHALL BE TURNED OVER TO THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO SYSTEM FINAL.
16, ALL DUCT DETECTORS TO BE INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURER INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS AND ALL APPLICABLE NFPA, UBC AND UMC STANDARDS.
17. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE ALL CONDUIT AND STANDARD
BACK —BOXES AS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.
