Old Business:

• T-shirt designs - 1909 Celery City Edition
o Want to use the Celery City Edition image but can't find the font to say "Sanford
Museum est. 1957"
o Brigitte will give Ryan the image to alter and make into a vector file
o New City T shirts are coming in tomorrow
o sent 3 quotes out only one responded.
o New T shirts should be $15 and all proceeds will go to the museum
o The Historical Society should not make their own T shirt but use the Museum's
design
• Updates on Love Letters and Chatting with the Chases
o Love Letters wasn't as successful as we wished. Possibly due to the Love Your
Shorts Festival Starting that day
o The Booths to make your Valentine were available all week. The museum will
have more activities like that for other vents
o Chatting the Chases already has 20 people signed up
o Share Tammy Agnini post on Suntan Chase and Company orange crate label
mural that is going on Second and Park.
• Exhibit - Henry Sanford's birthday / discuss availability of funds for mannequins
o Traditional Birthday party
o Should be inside the museum because June is HOT
o Paddle boat races with toy wooden rubber band powered boats that kids can
decorate.
o We need to try to find a kiddie pool to have "races"
o Get a stand of Jaffa and Valencia oranges to celebrate the oranges that Henry
Sanford brought
o Not Orange season sadly, but maybe orange juice

o Red Hill Groves might want to help donate oranges. The Whites are Sanford
Historical Society members
o Making birthday hats
o While Thursday June 15th in Henry Sanford's actual birthday we should do it
Saturday 17th so more people will come.
o Museum staff should do tours but do it as stations.
o If we need more staff Parks and Recreation can help staff the event.
o Idea of working with partners of the museum to talk more about Henry Sanford's
life.
o The library doing a book club with King Leopold's Ghost to talk about Henry
Sanford and the Congo.
o Getting middle and high schoolers to create "coded" happy birthday cards for
Henry Sanford to talk about Henry Sanford espionage career.
o District 2 meeting has all the schools, maybe we can get on the agenda to talk to
them.
o Next Thursday at 6pm.
o For PR make "badly animated" reels about Henry Sanford like the old JibJab
videos. We can use Abode Animate.
o Plan the animation for each week to gear up for his birthday
New Business:
• Determine new date for the Museum Spring Fling
o Let's move it to the same day of the Craft Day and make is a Fall Fling because
Florida is too hot the rest of the year for an outside event.
o November 25th 10am-5pm
• Virtual tour
o The virtual tour is a grant deliverable so we need to work on it
o Matterpoint is $3.5k for equipment but much cheaper if we do phone app with a
subscription plan.
o Find out how much the app costs and then Brigitte will work with Ryan to make
it.
o It should go live on Henry Sanford's Birthday celebration.
• Historical Society's upcoming programs and creating synergy
o May: Marie Francis: Midwifery in Sanford.
o July: Daughters of the War of 1812.
o September: Zoo History, 100th Anniversary/ exhibit case.
o November: Woodland Park. We can talk more about this later.
• Carpet out front to have logo
o What color? Dark Green. Jerry is getting an order in for the Triplett Center so if
we act now it can be cheaper.
