AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2000
WHICH AMENDED ORDINANCE 1990 OF THE CITY CODE
WHICH ESTABLISHED LAND DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS IN THE CITY TO AMEND SCHEDULE
"C", AREA AND DIMENSION REGULATIONS, TO RE-
ESTABLISH MINIMUM LIVING AREA REQUIREMENTS
FOR ONE- AND TWO-FAMILY DWELLINGS TO PRIOR
LEVELS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS
AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City recently enacted Ordinance No. 2000
which amended Ordinance 1990 establishing land development
regulations within the City; and
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City
Commission that area and dimension requirements for one- and two-
family dwellings are insufficient; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to re-establish
area and dimension requirements for one- and two-family dwellings
to their former levels so as to protect property values and the
quality of life in existing neighborhoods built pursuant to prior
regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined it to be in
the best interest of the Citizens of the City to re-establish
said area and dimension requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that an
emergency exists and deems it to be in the public interest to
move swiftly to protect existing neighborhoods built pursuant to
prior regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the provisions of
Emergency Ordinance No. 2000 until such time as permanent
Ordinance No. 2015 becomes effective;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Commission adopts the statements
above as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2: That Schedule "C" being the area and
dimensional regulations for lots and tracts of Ordinance No.
1990, the Land Development Regulations of the City, be and the
same is hereby modified to include area and dimension regulations
for one- and two-family dwellings as shown on Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 3: If any section or portion of this ordinance
proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional, it shall not
be held to impair the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 5: That this Emergency Ordinance set herein
shall become effective immediately upon the Emergency Ordinance's
passage and expire upon sixty (60) days from the date of passage,
or until the effective date of Ordinance 2015, which regulates
minimum area requirements for one- and two-family dwellings.

Florida, do hereby certify that a true and correct copy of the
foregoing Ordinance No. 2014, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City
Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, on the 20th day of
March, 1989, was posted at the front door of the City Hall in the
City of Sanford, Florida, on the 21st day of March, 1989.
