AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 17 - MOTOR VEHICLES AND
TRAFFIC - OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE BY ADDING
SUBSECTION 17-32, PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF
STORAGE, COSTS AND REMOVAL OF IMPOUNDED
VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF OWNER'S
CLAIM FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO IMMOBILIZED
VEHICLES; AND PROVIDING SEVERABILITY,
CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Chapter 17 Motor Vehicles and Traffic -
of the Sanford City Code be and i.s hereby amended to add Section
17-32 as follows:
(A) When a car is removed pusuant to Section 17-30, et
al., of the Sanford City Code, notice shall be provided to the
vehicle owner pursuant to the provisions of Florida Statute
713.78.
(B) At the time of the release of a vehicle
immobilized pursuant to Section 17-30 et al, the owner of such
vehicle or other duly authorized person, shall inspect the
vehicle and shall give a receipt to the parking enforcement
specialist, police offer, or his designee, reciting any claims he
has for loss or damage to the vehicle.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of
this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitu-
tional, it shall not be held to impair the validity, force or
effect of any other section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
