ORDEYANCE NO. 1709
AN OPaDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
CLOSING, VACATING AND ABANDONING STREETS,
PARKWAYS, AND EASemENTS LYING BETWEEN S~MINOLE
BOULEVARD (U.S. 17-92) AND WEST FIRST STREET
(S.R. 46) AND BETWEE~ THE WESTERLY RIG~T-OF-~AY
LINE OF PERSIb~40N AVERqL~ EXT~i~DED NORTHERLY AND
SOUTHERLY AND TAMARIND AV~I~3E EX'f~NDED SOUTHERLY;
PROVIDING SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND k2'f'ECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the owners of that certain real property lying between
Seminole Boulevard (U. S0 17-92) and West First Street (S.R. 46) and between
the westerly right-of-way line of Persin~non Avenue extended northerly
and southerly and Tamarind Avenue extended southerly, applied to the
City of Sanford, Florida, their application to have those certain streets,
parkways, and easements closed, vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 13, 1984, for
consideration and determination as to whether or not the closing,
vacating and abandoning of that certain portion should be allowed; and
WHEREAS, the City Cc~mission has determined that the closing,
vacating, end abandoning of that certain property does not conflict with
the Conprehensive Plan of the City of Sanford, Florida, and that the public
health, econc~y, comfort, order, convenience and welfare will be promoted
by such closing, vacating and abandoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT ~NACi'~U BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, ERDA:
SECTION 1: Those certain streets, parkways, and easements
between and within two (2) parcels of land described as follows:
PARCEL #1:
That certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in
Section 26, Township 19 South, Range 30 East, in the
Sanford Grant, described as follows: BEGINNING at a
stake located on the North side of St. Gertrude Avenue
61 chains and 57 links West of the Fast line of
intersection of Holly Avenue and First Street of the
Town of Sanford, Florida, and 30 feet North of the
center line of said First Street, and running thence
West along North side of St. Gertrude Avenue, 5 chains;
thence North 10 chains; thence East 5 chains; thence
South 10 chains to point of beginning.

PARCEL #2:
Beginning 601 feet North and 284 feet East of the
Quarter Section Post on the South boundary of Section 23,
Township 19 South, Range 30 East, run South 1405 feet,
East 295 1/2 feet, North 1205 feet to a stake on
marginal line of Lake Monroe, thence on marginal line
of said lake to beginning; being part of SW 1/4 of SE 1/4,
Section 23, and part of NW 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 26,
Township 19 South, Range 30 East.

SECTION 2: If any sec~cion or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not
be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby revoked.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall becc~e effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
