ORDINANCE NO. 1685
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, CLOSING,
VACATING, AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF PROSPECT DRIVE
AND A PORTION OF THE CROSSWAYS, LYING SOUTH OF FLORIDA
STREET (27TH STREET) AND WEST OF U. S. 17-92 (ORLANDO
DRIVE); PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the owners of that certain real property abutting a
portion of Prospect Drive and a portion of The Crossways, lying South of
Florida Street (27th Street) and West of U. S. 17-92 (Orlando Drive),
applied to the City of Sanford, Florida, their application to have said
property closed, vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 12, 1984, for
consideration and determination as to whether or not the closing,
vacating and abandoning of that certain portion should be allowed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that the closing,
vacating, and abandoning of that certain property does not conflict with
the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Sanford, Florida, and that the
public health, economy, comfort, order, convenience and welfare will be
promoted by such closing, vacating, and abandoning.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF
SANFORD, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That a portion of Prospect Drive and a portion of
The Crossways, lying South of Florida Street (27th Street) and West of
U. S. 17-92 (Orlando Drive), further described as: (Prospect Drive)
From the SE Corner of Lot 47, AMENDED PlAT OF DRUID
PARK, according to the Plat thereof as recorded in
Plat Book 7, pages 5 and 6, of the Public Records
of Seminole County, Florida, run N. 31° 57' 15" E.,
along the Westerly Right-of-Way Line of Orlando
Drive (U. S. Highway 17 & 92) a distance of 67.9
feet to the NE corner of Lot 47, thence run N.
31° 25' 26" W., along the Northerly line of said
Lot 47, a distance of 192.05 feet (said distance
shown as 178.3 feet on above referenced plat) to
the Point of Curvature of a curve concave to the
Southwest and a Point of Beginning; thence run
Westerly along said curve having a radius of 34.20
feet, a central angle of 87° 18' 01" an arc
distance of 52.11 feet, thence run N. 61° 16' 33" E.,
along the tangent to aforesaid curve, 32.63 feet,
thence run S 31° 25' 26" E., 32.63 feet to the
Point of Beginning. Containing 225 square feet.

From the SE Corner of Lot 47, AMENDED PLAT OF
DRUID PARK, according to the Plat thereof as
recorded in Plat Book 7, Pages 5 and 6, of the
Public Records of Seminole County, Florida,
run N. 31° 57' 15" E., along the Westerly Right-
of-Way Line of Orlando Drive (U. S. Highway
17 & 92) a distance of 67.9 feet to the NE
corner of Lot 47, thence run N. 31° 25' 26" W.,
along the Northerly line of said Lot 47, a distance
of 192.05 feet (said distance shown as 178.3 feet
on above referenced plat) to the Point of Curvature
of a curve concave to the Southwest and a Point of
Beginning; thence continue N. 31° 25' 26" W.,
32.63 feet, thence run N. 61° 16' 33" E., 30.03
feet to the centerline of THE CROSSWAYS as shown
on said amended plat, thence run S. 31° 25' 26" E.,
31.21 feet, thence run S. 58° 34' 34" W., 30.00
feet to the Point of Beginning. Containing 958
square feet. Retaining same as a utility easement.
is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned in the City of Sanford, Florida.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a section of this
ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not
be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force or effect of any other
section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
