AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 11, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 11-12
(a)(b)(c)(d), OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE, SAID
AMENDMENT INCREASING THE REFUSE RATE FOR EACH
SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE, FOR ANY MULTIPLE-
RESIDENTIAL USE, AND FOR EACH BUSINESS OCCUPANCY;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS, AND
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 11, Article 1, Section 11-12,
sub-paragraphs (a), (b), (c), and (d) of the Sanford City Code
is hereby amended as set forth in'Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
Said amendment increasing the refuse rate for each single-family
residence, for any multiple-residential use, and for each
business occupancy.
SECTION 2: If any section or portion of a sectin
of this ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstiu-
tional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity,
force or effect of any section or part of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4: That this Ordinance shall become effective
the 1st day of August, A.D., 1983.

(a) For each "single-family residence," which term shall embrace only a single
building and its premises for single-family occupancy, and exclude any rental
occupancy other than the single-family, each "church," each lodge," which
term shall embrace only non-profit, fraternal organizations maintaining
buildings for their lodge purposes, and each "nursery," such term embracing
only educational buildings used for instruction of children of pre-public
school age, the fee to be paid to the city shall be eight dollars and fifty
cents ($8.50) per month with an allowance of not more than two (2) receptacles,
as required by section 11-2 of ~he Code of the City of Sanford, Florida, per usage.
(b) For any multiple-residential use, including, but not limited to, duplexes,
apartments, quarters or combination thereof, a charge of five dollars and
ninety-one cents ($5.91) per family dwelling unit, subject however, to a
minimum of eleven dollars and eighty-four cents ($11.84). "Quarters" occupancy
is defined as several single-family rental buildings of one ownership on the
same premises and serviced as to other utilities through a single utility meter
or bill. No more than two (2) receptacles per family dwelling unit shall be
allowed as provided by section 11-12.
(c) For each business occupancy (which term shall embrace any occupancy other than
purely residential) the fees to be paid to the city shall be as follows:

Provided, however, commercial establishments having a volume of 9ollections less
than one cubic yard per collection the fee to be paid to the city shall be minimum
of ten dollars and thirty-four cents ($10.34) per month for two (2) collections
per week; fifteen dollars and fifty cents ($15.50) per month for three (3}
collections per week; twenty dollars and sixty-seven ($20.67) per month for four
(4) collections per week; twenty-five dollars and eighty-four cents ($25.84) for
five (5) collections per week; thirty-one dollars and one cent ($31.01) for six
collections per week.
(d) The monthly fees provided hereinabove shall cover the uniform refuse collection
service ~rovided for all usages similarly situated throughout the City of Sanford.

ford, Florida, do hereby certify that a true and correct
copy of the foregoing Ordinance No. 1648, PASSED and ADOPTED
by the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, on
the llth day of July, 1983, was POSTED at the front door of
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, on the 13th
day of July, 1983.
