NOTICE: In addition to the requirements of this permit, there may be additional restrictions applicable to this property that may be

Acceptance ofpermit is verification that I will notify the owner of the property of the requirements of Florida Lien Law, FS 713.
The City of Sanford requires payment of a plan review fee at the time of permit submittal. A copy of the executed contract is required
in order to calculate a plan review charge and will be considered the estimated construction value of the job at the time of submittal.
The actual construction value will be figured based on the current ICC Valuation Table in effect at the time the permit is issued, in
accordance with local ordinance. Should calculated charges figured off the executed contract exceed the actual construction value,
credit will be applied to your permit fees when the permit is issued.

This Evaluation Report is issued under Rule 61G20-3 and the applicable rules and regulations governing the use of
construction materials in the State of Florida. The documentation submitted has been reviewed by Robert Nieminen,
P.E. for use of the product under the Florida Building Code and Florida Building Code, Residential Volume. The
products described herein have been evaluated for compliance with the 6th Edition (2017) Florida Building Code
sections noted herein.
DESCRIPTION: Owens Corning Asphalt Roof Shingles
LABELING: Labeling shall be in accordance with the requirements the Accredited Quality Assurance Agency noted
herein and FBC 1507.2.7.1 / R905.2.6.1.
CONTINUED COMPLIANCE: This Evaluation Report is valid until such time as the named product(s) changes, the
referenced Quality Assurance documentation changes, or provisions of the Code that relate to the product change.
Acceptance of this Evaluation Report by the named client constitutes agreement to notify Robert Nieminen, P.E. if the
product changes or the referenced Quality Assurance documentation changes. TrinityJERD requires a complete
review of this Evaluation Report relative to updated Code requirements with each Code Cycle.
ADVERTISEMENT: The Evaluation Report number preceded by the words "Trinity I ERD Evaluated" may be displayed in
advertising literature. If any portion of the Evaluation Report is displayed, then it shall be done in its entirety.

4.1.2 Berkshire are fiberglass reinforced, 4-tab asphalt roof shingles.
4.1.3 DevonshireT' are fiberglass reinforced, 5-tab asphalt roof shingles.
4.1.4 Duration®, TruDefinition® Duration®, Duration® Premium Cool, TruDefinition® Duration Designer Color
Collection, TruDefinition®Oakridge®, Oakridge® and WeatherGuard® HP are fiberglass reinforced, laminated
asphalt roof shingles.
4.2 Hip & Ridge Shingles:
4.2.1 Berkshire® Hip & Ridge Shingles, High Ridge, WeatherGuard® HP Hip & Ridge Shingles, ProEdge Hip & Ridge
Shingles and DuraRidgeT1 Hip & Ridge Shingles are fiberglass reinforced, hip and ridge asphalt roof shingles.
4.3 Accessory Starter Strips:
4.3.1 Starter Strip Shingle, Starter Strip Plus and Starter Shingle Roll are starter strips for asphalt roof shingles.

5.4 Wind Classification:
5.4.1 All Owens Corning asphalt shingles noted herein are Classified in accordance with FBC Tables 1507.2.7.1
and R905.2.6.1 to ASTM D3161, Class F and/or ASTM D7158, Class H, indicating the shingles are acceptable
for use in all wind zones up to Vasd = 150 mph (Vuit = 194 mph). Refer to Section 6 for installation
requirements to meet this wind rating.
5.4.2 All Owens Corning hip & ridge shingles, Starter Strip Shingle and Starter Strip Plus noted herein are
Classified in accordance with FBC Tables 1507.2.7.1 and R905.2.6.1 to ASTM D3161, Class F, indicating the
shingles are acceptable for use in all wind zones up to Vasd = 150 mph (VUit = 194 mph). Refer to Section 6 for
installation requirements to meet this wind rating.
5.4.3 Classification by ASTM D7158 applies to exposure category B or C, as defined in FBC 1609.4.3, and a mean
roof height of 60 feet or less. Calculations by a qualified design professional are required for conditions
outside these limitations. Contact the shingle manufacturer for data specific to each shingle.
5.4.4 Refer to Owens Corning published information on wind resistance and installation limitations.
5.5 All products in the roof assembly shall have quality assurance audit in accordance with F.A.C. Rule 61G20-3.
6. INSTALLATION:
6.1 Underlayment:
6.1.1 Underlayment shall be acceptable to Owens Corning and shall hold current Florida Statewide Product
Approval, or be Locally Approved per Rule 614320-3, per FBC 1507.2.3, 1507.2.4 or R905.2.3.
6.2 Asphalt Shingles:
6.2.1 Installation of asphalt shingles shall comply with the Owens Corning current published instructions, using
minimum four (4) nails per shingle in accordance with FBC 1507.2.7 or R905.2.6, with the following
exceptions:
Berkshire shingles require minimum five (5) nails per shingle.
WeatherGuarde HP shingles require minimum six (6) nails per shingle.
Devonshire*" shingles require minimum six (6) nails per shingle.
Starter Strip Shingle and Starter Strip Plus require minimum five (5) nails per strip.
Refer to Owens Corning published information on wind resistance and installation limitations.
6.2.2 Fasteners shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's published requirements, but not less than FBC
1507.2.6 or R905.2.5. Staples are not permitted.
6.2.4 Where the roof slope exceeds 21 units vertical in 12 units horizontal, special methods of fastening are
required. See figures below for details.
6.2.5 Minimum Nailing —Starter Strip Shingle and Starter Strip Plus:

6.3.1 Installation of Berkshire Hip and Ridge Shingles, High Ridge, WeatherGuard HP Hip and Ridge Shingles
and ProEdge Hip & Ridge Shingles shall comply with the Owens Corning current published instructions,
using four (4) nails per shingle. Installation of DuraRidge'" Hip & Ridge Shingles shall comply with the
Owens Corning current published instructions, using two (2) nails per shingle. Refer to Owens Corning
published information on wind resistance and installation limitations, including the use of hand -sealing for
wind warranties.
6.3.2 Fasteners shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's published requirements, but not less than FBC
1507.2.6 or R905.2.5. Staples are not permitted.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION
ProArmor1°° A mechanically attached, synthetic underlayment consisting of a woven polypropylene
base with a non -woven polypropylene laminate on the topside of the underlayment, and
a coating on the back side (nominal weight = 2.15 Ib/1002). The underlayment shall be
used an alternative to ASTM D 226, Type II roofing underlayments and has
demonstrated a minimum tear strength of 20 pounds when tested in accordance with
ASTM D 1970. The product is supplied in 9.2-sq rolls with nominal dimensions of 4-ft x
250.5-ft. Unless otherwise noted, the following application details shall be followed for
New and Existing construction. See manufacturer's installation instructions for further
detail.
Roof Deck: The roof deck shall be constructed of closely fitted
wood sheathing for new or existing construction.
Plywood deck shall be installed in accordance with
FBC requirements. Roof decks shall have no more
than'/8" gap at abutting joints.
Attachment method: Underlayment shall be attached in accordance with
the FBC Table 1507.1.1 and manufacturer's
installation instructions.
Allowable roof coverings: Mechanically attached roof systems as prescribed in
FBC Section 1507.1.1.

1) This evaluation report is not for use in the HVHZ.
2) Fire Classification is not within the scope of this evaluation.
3) Wind uplift resistance in not within scope of this evaluation.
4) Installation of the evaluated product shall comply with this report, the FBC, and the manufacturer's published
application instructions. Where discrepancies exist between these sources, the more restrictive and FBC
compliant installation detail shall prevail.
5) Deck substrates shall be clean, dry, and free from any irregularities and debris. All fasteners in the deck
shall be checked for protrusion and corrected prior to underlayment application.
6) Roof slope limitations, shall be in accordance with FBC requirements.
7) The underlayment may be used as described in other current FBC product approval documents.
8) Roof coverings shall not be adhered directly to the underlayment. Roof coverings shall be mechanically
fastened through the underlayment to the roof deck.
9) The underlayment shall not be installed over existing roof coverings.
10) All underlayments shall be installed with the roll length parallel to the eave, starting at the eave, and lapped
in success courses installed up the deck in a manner that effectively sheds water from the deck. End laps
shall be staggered between courses in accordance with the manufacturer's application instructions.
11) The underlayment shall not be exposed on the roof deck for longer than 30 days.
12) All products listed in this report shall be manufactured under a quality assurance program in compliance with
Rule 61 G20-3.

WeatherLock® Metal is permitted to be used as prescribed in FBC Section 1507.1.1 for
mechanically attached roof coverings. Exposure on the roof deck shall be limited to a
maximum 90 days.
WeatherLock@ WeatherLock@ Specialty Tile & Metal is an ASTM D 1970 self-adhesive underlayment
Specialty Tile & Metal constructed from SBS modified asphalt and surfaced with a non -woven polyester fabric.

Section 1507.1.1. WeatherLock@ Specialty Tile & Metal is permitted to be used with
adhered clay or concrete tile roofing using either ICP Adhesives Polyset AH-160 (ICP
Adhesives and Sealants, Inc.) or TILE BONDTm Roof Tile Adhesive (The Dow Chemical
Company). Exposure on the roof deck shall be limited to a maximum 90 days.
The maximum roof slope shall be 6:12 when used with clay or concrete tile installations
without battens. Tile shall be stored on battens for roof slopes greater than 6:12. Tiles
shall not be stacked greater 10 tiles per stack.
WeatherLock@ G (High WeatherLock@ G (High Tear) is a self -adhered, underlayment used as an alternative to
Tear) ASTM D 226, Type I or Type II roofing felt and ASTM D 1970 self -adhering polymer

WeatherLock® Self -Sealing ice & Water Barriers
Min. Roof Slope: 2:12 in accordance with the FBC
Application: All underlayments shall be installed in accordance with the FBC.
Deck substrates shall be clean, dry, and free from any irregularities and debris. All
fasteners in the deck shall be checked for protrusion and corrected prior to underlayment
application. Prior to beginning installation, the underlayment shall be unrolled and
allowed to relax for a minimum of 3-5 minutes.
The underlayment shall be installed with the release backer removed and pressed firmly
into place to ensure complete contact with the deck. The underlayment shall be installed
with the roll length parallel to the eave, starting at the eave, and with minimum 3" side
laps and minimum 6" end laps staggered min. 6-ft.from preceding course. Additionally, if
applying WeatherLock® Specialty Tile & Metal, end laps shall be primed with ASTM D
41 primer or sealed with asphalt roof cement a minimum of 3-4 inches across the width
of the lap.
It is permissible to back nail the underlayment 12-inches on -center as needed (nails shall
be installed perpendicular to deck with the nail heads flush to the top surface of the
underlayment). Additionally, WeatherLock® Specialty Tile & Metal shall be back nailed
when installed on roof slopes greater than 3:12.
Min. Application 40°F; Contact the manufacturer when installing at temperatures below the minimum
Temperature: application temperature.

The Maximum Design Pressures shown below were calculated using a 2:1 margin of safety per FBC Section 1504.9

Roof Deck: Min. 15/32-inch CDX plywood attached to wood supports spaced a maximum 24" o.c.
Underlayment: WeatherLock® Specialty Tile & Metal shall be applied in accordance with
manufacturer's installation instructions to the fastened deck and backnailed along the
selvage with minimum 12ga., 1-1/4-inch galvanized ring shank roofing nails through
optionally primed, 32ga. x 1-5/8-inch fd tin caps spaced 12" o.c. The applied
underlayment shall be rolled with a minimum 751b steel roller immediately following
application.

1) This evaluation report is not use in the HVHZ.
2) Fire Classification is not within the scope of this evaluation.
3) Installation of the evaluated product shall comply with this report, the FBC, and the manufacturer's published
application instructions. Where discrepancies exist between these sources, the more restrictive and FBC
compliant installation detail shall prevail.
4) The roof deck shall be constructed of closely fitted plywood sheathing for new or existing construction.
5) The space under the deck area shall be properly ventilated in accordance with the FBC requirements.
6) All side lap seams shall be installed to shed water from the deck.
7) The underiayment may be used as described in other current FBC product approval documents.
8) Design wind load pressures shall be determined for components and cladding in accordance with FBC
1609.
9) The roof deck shall be designed by others in accordance with FBC requirements to resist the design wind
load pressures for components and cladding.
10) Maximum Design Pressures for a given underiayment shall meet or exceed the design wind loads
determined for the roof assembly.
11) All products listed in this report shall be manufactured under a quality assurance program in compliance with
Rule 61 G20-3.

Deck Type: Roof deck shall be constructed of closely fitted sheathing for new or existing
construction. Roof deck shall be designed and installed in accordance with FBC
requirements.
Roof slope: Minimum 3:12 to maximum 16/12
Installation Height: Maximum 60-ft
Attachment Method: Cut a 2-inch opening (11-inch on each side of the ridge) centered in the deck at the
ridge for ventilation. The slot shall terminate approximately 6-inches from the rake
edges. Apply a 1/4-inch wide bead of ASTM D 4586 roofing cement along the entire
length of the outside edges of the vent to seal the vent to the field shingles, taking
care to not completely cover the weep slots in the vent. Center the vent over the
opening and fasten to the deck using the 11 ga. 2'/z-inch galvanized ring shank nails
shall comply with FBC Section 1506.5) provided with the vent. Fasteners are to be
installed on both sides of the vent 1, 12, 24, 36, and 47-inches from the start of each
vent piece.
Prepare the adjacent vent section by applying the roofing cement along the edges,
snap together with fixed vent, and fasten to the deck in the same manner as the first
section. Fasten the ridge shingles over the vent to the deck on the marked "shingle
nail line" with two (2) minimum 11 ga. 2'/cinch galvanized ring shank roofing nails
shall comply with FBC Section 1506.5) provided with the vent or as directed by the
shingle manufacturer's installation instructions.

Install baffle in Y.-inch bed of ASTM D 4586 roofing cement and secure with
minimum 12 ga. ring shank roofing nails (shall comply with FBC Section 1506.5)
spaced 8-inches o.c. (total of (3) nails) while ensuring %-inch penetration through
wood deck. Seal all nails and vent flange with ASTM D 4586 roofing cement.

Deck Type: Roof deck shall be constructed of closely fitted sheathing for new or existing
construction. Roof deck shall be designed and installed in accordance with FBC
requirements.
Roof slope: Minimum 2:12 to maximum 20:12
Installation Height: Maximum 60-ft
Attachment Method: Cut a 2-inch opening (1-inch on each side of the ridge) centered in the deck at the
ridge for ventilation. The slot shall terminate approximately 12-inches from the rake
edges. Apply a continuous bead of polyurethane adhesive sealant along the entire
length of the outside edges of the vent to seal the vent to the field shingles. Center
the vent over the opening and fasten the vent 24-inches o.c. to the deck using
minimum 12 ga. ring shank roofing nails (shall comply with FBC Section 1506.5),
ensuring %-inch penetration through wood deck.
Fasten the ridge shingles over the vent to the deck on the marked "shingle nail line"
with two (2) minimum 12 ga. ring shank roofing nails (shall comply with FBC Section
1506.5) or as directed by the shingle manufacturer's installation instructions,
ensuring %-inch penetration through wood deck. Outside edges of the shingles shall
be sealed with flashing cement.

LIMITATIONS
1) Fire Classification is outside the scope of this evaluation.
2) This report is not for use in the HVHZ.
3) The roof deck and deck attachment shall be designed by others in accordance with the FBC.
4) All products listed in this report shall be manufactured under a quality assurance program in compliance with
Rule 61 G20-3.
5) Owens Corning vents shall be installed in strict compliance with this evaluation report and the
manufacturer's published installation instructions. In the event of conflict, the more restrictive installation
shall be enforced.
6) Deck substrates shall be clean, dry, and free from any irregularities and debris. All fasteners in the deck
shall be checked for protrusion prior to installation.
7) Installation of the roof assembly is outside the scope of this evaluation.
8) Owens Corning vents are intended to provide passive ventilation for an enclosed attic in residential
construction applications.
