AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING SECTION 22-15(a)(12) AND SECTION 22-
17(h) OF THE SANFORD CITY CODE, AS AMENDED,
SAID SECTIONS PROVIDING FOR A DEFINITION OF
GROUND SIGNS AND MOBILE TRAILER SIGNS; PRO-
VIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, CONFLICTS AND EFFEC-
TIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That Section 22-15 (a)(12), The Code of
the City of Sanford, Florida, as amended, providing for a defini-
tion of ground signs, be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
(12) Ground sign. A sign which is supported by metal
structures or supports, independent of support
from any building, resting and anchored into a
concrete foundation to a minimum depth of one
and half (11/2) feet of 2,000 psi concrete with
sufficient design of the foundation to anchor
and support the sign for a mimimum 80 mile per
hour wlnd load; and to have a mimimum clearance
under the sign face of three (3) feet. Ground
signs may be any of the following: animated,
changeable copy, commercial advertising, flashing,
lighted occupant identification, on site and
public information signs.
SECTION 2: That Section 22-17 (h), The Code of
the City of Sanford, Florida, as amended, providing for a defini-
tion of mobile trailer signs, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
(h) Mobile trailer signs. A mobile trailer sign shall
mean a point of purchase advertising sign or any
material for such use with or without changable
type lettering, illuminated or nonilluminated
mounted on a boat type trailer, trailer frame
complete with axle and wheels, and capable of be-
ing towed over the road as a trailer. A mobile
trailer sign shall be considered to be a tempor-
ary sign and as such, the copy area of such mobile
trailer sign shall be in addition to the maximum
allowable copy area for the point-of-sale signs.
SECTION 3: If any section or portion of a section of
this Ordinance proves to be invalid, unlawful or unconstitutional,
it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force
or effect of any section or part of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
