ORDINANCE NO. 1390
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
TO ANNEX WITHIN THE CORPORATE AREA OF THE
CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, UPON ADOPTION OF
SAID ORDINANCE, A PORTION OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY LYING APPROXIMATELY 168 FEET EAST
OF UPSALA ROAD AND APPROXIMATELY 1460 FEET
NORTH OF PAOLA ROAD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION PROVISIONS OF SECTION
171. 044, FLORIDA STATUTES (1976).
WHEREAS, there has been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Sanford, Florida, a petition containing the names of the property
owners in the area described here~after requesting annexation to the
corporate area of ~he City of Sanford, Florida, and requesting to be
included therein; and
~EREAS, the Property Appraiser of Seminole Co~ty,
Florida, having certified that there are four property owners in ~he area
%o be annexed, ~d that said property owners have signed ~he petition for
annexation; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined ~ha~ the proper~y described
hereinaf~er is reasonably compact and contiguous to the corporate area
of the City of Sagord, Florida, and it has further been determined that
the annexation of said property will not resul~ in the creation of an enclave;
and
W~REAS, the City of Sanford, Florida, is in a position to
provide municipal services ~o ~e property described herein, and the City
Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, deems it ~ the best interest
of ~he City to accept said petition and %o annex said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY T~ PEOPLE OF
THE CITY OF SANFORD0 FLORIDA:
SECTION 1o That that certain property in Seminole County,
Florida, described as follows be and the same is hereby annexed to and
made a part of the City of Sanford, Florida, pursuant to the voluntary
annexation provisions of Section 171. 044, Florida Statutes (1976):
The North 1/6 of Lot 48, NEW UPSALA, according
to the Plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 1, Page
67, of the Public Records of Seminole County,
Florida, LESS the West 168 feet and LESS the East
250 feet,
and ALSO
The South 330 feet of Lot 46, NEW UPSALA, according
to the Plat thereof as recorded in Plat Book 1, Page
67, of the Public Records of Seminole County,
Florida, LESS the West 168 feet thereof.
SECTION 2. That upon this ordinance becoming effective, the
residents and property owners of the property described herein shall be
entitled to all the rights and privileges and immunities as are from time to
time granted to residents and property owners of the City of Sanford,
Florida, and as are further provided in Chapter 171, Florida Statutes (1976),
and shall further be subject to the responsibilities of residence or owne~-
ship as may from time to time be determined by the governing authority of
the City of Sanford, Florida, and the provisions of said Chapter 171,
Florida Statutes (1976).
SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
