Mirtone M2M-PDC Series self -diagnostic, two -wire smoke detectors
are the industry's first conventional direct -wire smoke detectors with
advanced features such as remote maintenance reporting. sell
diagnostics, drift compensation, and multi -criteria detection.
Its unique CleanA4e feature enables the detector to tell the control
panel and central station when it drifts out of its UL listed sensitivity
range or when it fails intemal diagnostics. This all but eliminates the
risk of false alarms caused by dirty detectors.
In addition to optional CleanMe remote reporting, all M2M detec-
tors continually monitor their own sensitivity and operational status,
and provide a visual indication if they drift out of their prescribed
sensitivity range or fail internal diagnostics. This meets NFPA 72
field sensitivity testing requirements without the needfa- external
meters. Additional diagnostic information is available by applying a
magnet near the detector's integral reed switch. This initiates a self -
diagnostic routine and provides visual indication of sensitivity level
or indicates if service is required.
Time between cleaning detectors is dramatically increased because
of the M2M's built-in drift compensation. This feature allows the
detector to automatically adjust its sensitivity over time as it
becomes dirty, which can double the time between detector
cleanings. When the detector does indicate that cleaning is neces-
sary, it's literally a snap with Mirtone's patented field -replaceable
optical chamber.
The M2M-PDHC combination phi
rate -of -rise heat detector includes I
response to both flaming and
smoldering fires. Fast response
algorithms allow the heat
detectors to work intelligently
together with the photoelectric
smoke detector. As soon as the
heat sensor detects a rapid rise
in temperature, the sensitivity
of the photoelectric sensor
increases. This increase allows
the sensor to detect smaller
particles of combustion
quicker.

The 73340 Series Heat Detectors are available with 135F (57C) or
194F (90C) ratings for fixed temperature or combination rate -of -rise
15F per minute)/fixed temperature operation. All models provide
single pole normally open (N.O.) contacts and are rated for installa-
tion on up to 50 foot (15 in) centers.
The rate -of -rise heat element is self -restoring. The fixed temperature
element is non -restorable. Its activation is indicated when the center
disk falls free from the detector.
The heat detectors are finished in pure White. They mount to North
American 3-1/2" or 4" octagon electric boxes. The mounting plate
supplied) can be reversed to accommodate exposed wiring installa-
tions. Screw terminals are provided for field wire connection.
