Dear Owner/Owners:
The Code Enforcement Board was created pursuant to Chapter 80-300, Laws of
Florida 1980, and Ordinance No. 1526, Sanford City Code. The purpose of the Board is
to facilitate the enforcement of certain codes/zoning ordinances of the City of Sanford by
creating a Board of 7 citizens who may quickly and fairly render decisions concerning
violations of these codes/zoning ordinances.
You are hereby formally notified that on the _L2L day of February, 2002, at 7:00
P.M., there will be a PUBLIC HEARING in the City Commission Chambers, Room 117,
Sanford City Hall, 300 N. Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida, concerning your violation of
city codes and/or zoning ordinances. (See attached Affidavit of Violation and Request for
Hearing)
You are hereby ordered to appear before the Code Enforcement Board on that
date to answer these charges and to present your side of the case. Failure to appear may
result in the Board proceeding in your absence and a judgment being taken against you.
Should you be found in violation of the City Code/Zoning Ordinance(s), the Code
Enforcement Board has the power by law to levy fines of up to $250.00 a day against your
property for every day that any violation continues beyond the date set by the Board. if
the violation is corrected and then recurs, pursuant of Florida Statute 162.06(2) this case
shall be presented to the Code Enforcement Board at the above state PUBLIC HEARING
even if the violation has been corrected prior to the PUBLIC HEARING.
Should you desire, you have the right to obtain an attorney, at your own expense,
to represent you before the Board. You also have the right to present witnesses as well as
question the witnesses against you at the PUBLIC HEARING.
Please be prepared to present evidence at this meeting concerning the amount of
time necessary to correct the alleged violation, should you be found to be in violation on
the City Code/Zoning Ordinances(s). `
